Virgil and Tom faced off for the first time on August 13th in a forum
that demonstrated the wide gap between the two of them - especially
when it comes to immigration policy. Virgil has repeatedly touted his
fence: "There's no way a 12 foot ladder will cross this fence."

A little help of some visual aids would be useful in understanding
Virgil's complex "3 tier" fence policy that was outlined in 5 parts?

Obama Organizing in Seven New States

WASHINGTON -- Alaska is young. Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia have growing populations and many black voters. Montana has seen recent Democratic inroads, and North Dakota has sent only Democrats to Congress since 1986. Indiana borders Barack Obama's home state.

The Democratic presidential candidate is putting money and manpower in those seven traditionally GOP states -- at levels unmatched by Republican rival John McCain.

For decades, these states have rarely seen any campaign action. Now they are emerging as new battlegrounds.

"We have the organizational ability and the financial ability to compete there," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said recently. "There is not a head fake among them."

Undeterred, senior McCain strategist Steve Schmidt said: "We feel very confident about holding these states."

May Day Protest Scheduled

This Thursday, May 1st, at noon, there will be anti-war demonstrations across the country. It's Mission Accomplished Day (5 years) and it's the original Labor Day (122 years). Concerned citizens will be leaving work to rally in front of their congressional members' offices. Here in Richmond, we will gather in front of Senator Webb's office to demand that he stop funding the occupation of Iraq. Although he says he opposes the war, he continues to vote for funding. On January 25, 2008 I announced my candidacy for U.S. House of Representatives in the VA 4th Congressional District as a Democrat.

Currently, I am working on collecting 1500 signatures to satisfy the ballot access requirement. We need volunteers to help gather signatures as well as do literature drops and assist with fundraising.

My primary issues are:

Washington D.C. attorney Matthew T. Famiglietti will announce that he is seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives for the 8th Congressional District on November 21, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elmo's Coffee Pub located at 2300 Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia.

Mr. Famiglietti has been an attorney for 14 years, and is a native of Washington, D.C. He is active as a volunteer attorney for the AARP Legal Council for the Elderly and the Archdiocese Legal Network of Washington, D.C.
