The Promised Land ...a message from Michael Moore

Friends,

Tomorrow.

All of us.

You, me, and everyone we know.

Eight years is enough. Eight weeks was enough.

We have a chance to redeem this country, to prove we're better than this, that which Bush has made of us.

McCain is right about one thing: Barack Obama is the most liberal senator in the United States Senate. More liberal than Ted Kennedy. When was the last time you had a chance to send the MOST liberal senator to the White House? Trust me, it won't happen again in our lifetime.

LET AMERICA, BE AMERICA AGAIN!

DISENCHANTED AND DISGRUNTLED DEM, since the 2000 election was stolen. A 'political junkie' but armchair observer, with a 'give G the benefit of the doubt', up until after his 2001 Inauguration and my Layoff from a Fortune 500 Company after 10 years, when he came out promoting A Social Security Privitization/Ownership Society/Criminalization of Seniors for Crossing Our Borders for Cheaper Prescription Drug Costs/Schemes!!! Then came his 'Shock & Awe'/'Mission Accomplished' Campaigns for 'WMD', 'No Wait! Osama Dead or Alive O Never Mind'/ 'Democratization of Iraq'! Then, I BECAME REALLY STIRRED and kind of 'RAD&#39 as I observed THE DECONSTRUCTION OF AMERICA ON EVERY FRONT ~ FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC? I decided to join a Washington Protest March in Sept 2005 ~ a throng of hundreds of thousands of Americans of every Hue and Stripe ~ & after 'The Katrina'/'Atta Boy Brownie Debacle'!

Ego-Warrior Vs Heart-Motivator

Something I read yesterday got my attention; it reported that 1 out of 7 people said they could still be persuaded about who to vote for President. I was shocked since to me there is such a clear difference between McCain and Obama. Here to me is what the differences are:

John McCain is an ego driven warrior. He is motivated by his ego to dominate, to lead because he thinks it is his right. His way of dealing with conflict will be to threaten, to swing a big stick, to generate fear in the people so they will follow. He dislikes being questioned because he thinks he knows what is best for America and we should just follow along. People who live in fear would like such a leader. Someone self-assured and who thinks he is powerful enough to push anyone around will make those who are scared feel protected.

Why I am voting for Obama

I'm a diehard Democrat, and have been since I was 18.  I have never missed an election for which I was eligible, since I consider it my duty as a citizen to vote.  I have watched in horror for the past 8 years as elections were stolen, laws were disregarded, and the Geneva Conventions and the Constitution itself was ignored in the mad rush for "revenge" upon a group of people who had, on the whole, no part in the crimes against the United States, and our country go to war against a country that had NO weapons of mass destruction.  I have seen the only man of reason in the whole Bush Administration forced to fall on his sword (Colin Powell), because he was the one that the money grubbing profiteers made responsible for the "mistake" in evidence.  I am only glad that my husband left government service before this administration took office.

My Vote For Obama

Who better than a constitutional law professor

to restore our system of 3 co-equal branches of government

with a judiciary to approve search and seizure

- no more warrantless wiretaps

and a Congress to pass legislation

- no more signing statements exempting the president from the laws

Who better than a civil rights attorney

to restore our right to challenge our incarceration

and confront the evidence against us

and have representation by an attorney

Who better than a state senator

who brought together prosecutors & defense attorneys,

police officers & victims advocates,

and achieved death penalty reform

and after years of emotional debate without him,

and won the right to videotaped interrogations in murder cases -

Who better than such a man

Why we support Barack Obama

My Husband and I support Barack Obama.  We have been inspired by him since he gave his first national speech at the previous democratic convention!  We have not been this inspired since John Kennedy became President.

We are senior citizens.  We trust him more to protect our rights as seniors.  We also believe he will inspire great changes in our country and "we, the people" will remember our responsibilities to our country and to each other under his leadership as citizens of this great nation.

We see in Barack and his family, a common US family, who worship together, plan together, laught together,  and are commited to each other.  They are what we were when we raised our family, we can identify with them and be inspired by them.

Why I Support Barack Obama

There are so many reasons why I support Barack Obama for president. His foreign relations philosophy, support of families, belief in equal rights for all and education reform ideas are all well thought-out, fair-minded policies that just make sense. I will focus on the issue that is most important to me in this election year: health care.

My Vote for Obama

I met Barack after his keynote speech and before he announced his candidacy for president when he came to Phoenix, Arizona to endorse a local politician. I asked him if I could take his picture and he asked someone else to take the picture of the two of us. He put his arm around me as he typically does, and smiled that spectacular smile of his. The warmth and compassion and sheer goodness of this man emanates from every pore of his being. It is obvious that he is a "people person". They say babies and animals are more psychic than anyone else. I suppose that's why they smile and they cling to this stranger instead of crying. He holds them as though they were his own children and they know instinctively what kind of person he is. When I first went to Obama HQ during the primary to make calls for Barack, my script and instruction sheet said in bold print to never say anything negative about any other candidate.
