Bob Fertik co-founded Democrats.com with David Lytel in 2000 as the online home of the "Aggressive Progressives" (you can read our history). He is a life-long progressive and Democratic Party activist, as well as a blogger, journalist, author, candidate, political consultant, and entrepreneur. He co-founded numerous organizations, most recently AfterDowningStreet.org and ImpeachPAC.org. He graduated from Yale College with a B.A. in Economics in 1979, and lives with his family in New York City.
Bob Geiger is a writer, activist and Democratic District Leader in Westchester County, NY. The award-winning author of the Yellow Dog Blog and BobGeiger.com joined Democrats.com in 2005 and became a regular contributor in 2006, specializing in coverage of the United States Senate.
Bob began his political career at San Francisco State University where he attended on the G.I. Bill, served as a representative on the student legislature and received a degree in Economics, while minoring in Journalism. As a military Veteran, he is particularly intolerant of the Bush administration's misuse of the military, the cynical, fake patriotism of right-wingers who claim to support the troops and conservative chickenhawks who talk tough, while having no idea what armed conflict really looks like.
His true introduction to aggressive Democratic politics came under the tutelage of James Carville in the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign, which some political historians have called the best-run political campaign of the last century. As a writer, he won the Weblog Awards prize for Best New Blog and was a finalist in the prestigious Koufax Awards in 2005 for his column "I Know This Little Boy in New Orleans."
After years of observing the Republican party, Bob's political creed is: No prisoners… No compromise… No more reaching across the damn aisle.
