I have contacted Viktor Yushenko.

I hope he actually responds... I sent him the following letter. I only
hope it is thoughtfull engouh.

Dear Mr. Yushenko,

My name is Justin Bell, I am a Democrat and I live in
the United States in California. As you know, George
W. Bush won our presidential election on Nov. 2nd, but
many of us do not think he has done so legitimately.
There are many indications that this election has been
stolen from us, much in the same way it was in
Ukraine, with widespread election fraud.

That man has taken this country, and the world, down
such a dangerous and destructive path. He is a
power-hungry tyrant who is responsible for the deaths
of tens of thousands of innocent lives and the
inhumane torture of prisoners of war.

What is worse, our representatives in the United
States Senate have abandoned their constituents in
favor of bi-partisanship and in fear of not getting
re-elected. Where are our Senators in light of
emerging evidence that the voter fraud in Ohio is less
a conspiracy and more a reality? Why do they ignore
the popular desires of the other half of this nation
with 'toothless' assurances of future legislation and
election reform?

Because of this we cannot bear 'four more years', as
Bush supporters love to chant.

Mr Yushenko the fight is not over yet. We cannot give
up in this moment of truth just as you and the people
of Ukraine did not give up. We cannot shrink from our
responsibility as protectors of truth and justice for
the sake of 'moving on as a nation'. The integrity of
truth and justice as well as the sanctity of our
election process and right to vote overrules the need
to 'move on'. We must fight to maintain these
institutions as pillars of our democracy or we run the
risk of making a mockery of our 'Democratic-Republic'
and the values that we feel, ironically enough, are
worthy of imposing on other sovereign nations.

If we have learned anything over the past four years,
it is that no president, or party, should ever have
that much power again. Despite the fact this country
is split so evenly, we will see the 'liberal' agenda
overruled time and again by the republican majority
found in all branches of our government. Despite this
even split, we as 'liberals' have no voice and
therefore, no power, to resist the coming tyranny and
oppression.

We have been watching what you, and Georgia's Mikhail
Saakashvili, have accomplished and we are truly
inspired. On January 6th our Congress will certify
the election and on the 20th George W. Bush will be
inaugurated into his second term. But we cannot allow
these things to happen. When January comes, we will
attempt what you and your supporters so heroically
achieved, and stop the certification and inauguration
from ever taking place.

Mr Yushenko, do you have any advice for my
countrymen/women? Any words of encouragement or
inspiration would mean so much to us on the difficult
road ahead. They could make the difference between
success and failure in January.

Thank you for what you have done in Ukraine. You have
proven to the world that a revolution can take place
without violence. You have provided us all with hope.

Sincerely,

Justin Bell
