I just called Congressman Pearce's Washington DC office (202 225-2365) and DEMANDED a no vote on the upcoming warrantless wiretapping vote. This "compromise" is obscene because it gives complete immunity to the telcos that have spied on us illegally since 2001, as well as to the Bush Administration officials who illegally asked them to break the law. It lets them continue spying on us by creating a Big Brother armed with a figleaf of meaningless "protections." On May 14, 2008 Democrats defeated a similar immunity bill by 213-197. There is absolutely NO reason for any Democrat to change his or her vote NOW except corrupt greed for telco campaign cash.

I don't know why the system thinks today is December 31, 1969 - Today is actually June 20, 2008.
