Iraq Yellow Ribbons

During the Iran Hostage Crisis of 1979-81, Americans tied yellow ribbons around our trees to show our determination to bring our hostages home from the Middle East.

In 2008, Americans are again being held hostage in the Middle East. But this time, our hostages are in Iraq, not Iran. And this time our hostages are over 150,000 U.S. troops, not 52 diplomats.

Our troops are not being held hostage by Iraqis, who want to let U.S. troops return home.  Instead, our troops are being held hostage by their own Commander-in-Chief, George W. Bush, who wants to keep them in Iraq forever.

And if John McCain is elected President in November, he has vowed to keep U.S. troops hostage in Iraq for 100 or 10,000 or even 1,000,000 years.

We cannot let U.S. troops be held hostage by Republican presidents. Let's show our determination to bring our troops home by tying yellow ribbons around trees all across America.
