Newsketeer Endorses ObamaEndorsement of Barack H. Obama for President of the United States of America
BERKSHIRE COUNTY, MA - After much consideration about the need for the United States of America to move in an entirely new, productive and peaceable direction, it is with great calm and gladness that I name an endorsement that fits closely with the ideals of my own conscience. That person is Mr. Barack Obama, Senator from Illinois. This endorsement is a first for my Newsketeer! online publication. Although as a news source we pitiably insignificant, as we are woefully disconnected from the central machinations of Washington, the workings of which too often fail to serve the better interests of the United States Citizen, or the citizens of the world at large, whether they socialize within the sphere of the civilized or the primitive, our voice is yet Adamant, primal and sincere.
Neither the infamous torture chambers at Guantanamo, a ghastly icon of the modern face of American debauchery, which remains perplexingly invisible in our self reflection, nor a successively mean-spirited, Christianized Supreme Court, desensitized to their role as fair adjudicators of a common, secular law, but which of late gives all the appearance of careful crafting in order to effect the ends of an autocratic Executive Office, none shall breach my determined bond of affinity toward Mr. Obama.
His is a different message, one of hope and new direction inspired by genius. As a human, Mr. Obama has his weaknesses, and weakness might be said of any of the candidates at large. However, on the balance, the strength of his constancy will prove the victory of the day. I think this not in reaction to the whims of the "World's Most Admired Today," which soon becomes the "World's Most Abhorrent Tomorrow," but in his modest incline to the positive, without demonstrating a talent for drama with respect to the daily changing and unpredictable spikes and valleys on the Pointillist canvas of international event.
This modest incline I speak of is exactly the restoration needed in Washington. Decisions made thoughtfully out of principles and consideration for the common body which it serves is woefully absent, not just in Republican-led Legislature, Judiciary and Executive components, but in the Democratic side, as well. The importance of a restoration of democratic ideals is an imperative. The disestablishment of a theocracy is imperative. The gutting of that evil which invokes war for the fat profits of a few private corporations is an imperative. A return to the peaceable kingdom envisioned by Washington, Madison and Jefferson after the winning of the Revolutionary War would serve as the highest form of flattery to the sacrifices made by our Founding Fathers, not this perverted blood lust and entrenched occupation of foreign nations that seems to suck our National Will dry and renders our Purpose into an abominable zombie, standing at the stock-end of machine guns, tanks and the myriad petty instruments loathed by Supreme Wisdom.
With that, Mr. Obama, I wish you great success, and hope that such success proves simply to be the fertile waters of a verdant new era for our nation. Should our will to persevere on a course that respects human dignity show signs of emerging from a long, dormant winter, then your work will have been accomplished.
Signed,
Gregory George Lewis, the Newsketeer!
