Al Gore will be more valuable to the nation by continuing the campaign to keep climate-change andglobal warming before industry, Congress and the President, regardless of the results of the 2008election. He has the brilliance of Jefferson, the determination of John Adams and the curiosity andentrepreneurship of Ben Franklin. He can be the go-to person for scientists, inventors business owners and policy makers who want to make a contribution toward turning our economy green. He is in a position to extract from all the candidates for federal office a pledge to lead us toward keeping the planet a safe place to live. For example, 1.5 billion people now are dependant on runoff from glaciersfor their water supply. How will they survive if the glaciers disappear?     Tom Dawes
