Farm subsidies and other pork...

I am leaning heavily Democrat, after seeing how the Republicans have been destroying our hard won and fortitious bill of rights and constitution. I have problems understanding how, in light of intense review by myself and others interested in supporting the Democrats, upper leadership promotes and pushes through some of the fat cat pork recently passed, such as the new/old welfare for the rich program, farm subsidies. Why don't you folks at least study the situation and try to write a program that would help the little guy instead of making rich corporate "farmers" richer? I was raised in Kansas, formally a haven for the small farmer, and I know that most small farmers had to have a full time, separate job, to afford to farm thier 200 to 400 acre farms. I know that this is a relatively minor issue, but, when can we expect politicians to start thinking of good legislation? I know y'all have smart staff's that can research issues and work toward progressive governance. Why can't you try that instead of continuing on in the same old tired way? Pass a pork, get a contribution...it get's old. Maybe, pass a well thought out bill, publicise the hell out of and get a few hundred thousand voters. Well, that's my little rant. I know most politicians are at heart, good salesmen...and we all know about good salesmen. It would be so refreshing to see the democrats promote and demonstrate good governance as it's obvious the republicans are not going to.
