On 5/10/07, Rep. Jim Costa betrayed the voters and troops of California's 20th Congressional District by voting to continue George Bush's disastrous Iraq War forever.
Democrats.com is looking for an "aggressive progressive" Democrat who will challenge Costa in a Democratic primary in 2008.

Please add to the reasons against re-election...
That Jim Costa voted with the majority of Congress to initiate a "Thought Police" in the US. The bill was HR 1959, which basically takes away the right to think, because it sows dissension. This bill is comparable to the Alien and Sedition Acts which were rightly repealed early in the history of this country. I emailed him to register my disapproval of his vote. I have yet to hear back from him.
Neither I nor anyone I know has the qualifications needed to run against Costa in the primary next year, but I hope we can find someone... And soon! Because the person needs the time to prepare, and to get his/her face and message into the public eye.
