rigged voting
Yes, I was aware of that.... (I did learn some though)
What I don't understand though, is how some, even on this blog, assume that a "shift in public opinion" will help the Democrats in 2006.
I'd like to buy that, but I won't. The whole US electoral system is COMPLETELY rigged... I've been fooled too many times... I don't need false hopes and empty reassurances, I want proof that my vote counts... PROOF !
Now when you combine that with how the Fourth Estate has morphed into msm, etc... I cannot for the life of me comprehend some who on this blog apply a stalinist approach and close some discussions which they deem counterproductive (i.e. "GOP memo touts new terror attack as way to reverse party's decline") and who tell us, in effect: "either you work within the Democratic party and be part of the solution or you're part of the problem".
Listen buster, I've tried to work within the Democratic party... it seems some in my party care more for bigger financial contibutions than mine. I don't want to leave my party... see I'm here! But it's my party that has just about left me.
What's happened (elections, war, etc..) has been a disaster and the work of repugfascists... OK, we all agree on that... but let's not forget that it also has been allowed to happen (and even facilitated) by some within our own party... i.e. lieberman (there are others)...
So I don't want to hijack the topic at hand which is a crucial one, but I believe it has to be discussed within the prism of democratic traitors who have their own agenda distinct from that of the core Democrat, you and me. Be it Patriot Act or a timid defense of the right to vote and have one's vote really counted or even unlawful war in Iraq, we need to to know who our real friends are.
If you would take the time
If you would take the time to read some of the older posts on this blog, you would find that you are preaching to the choir. By and large, we are just as anti-DLC as we are anti-neocon, because they all feed from the same corporate bread line.
Liberal Democrats want to return the Democratic Party to its rightful owners: grass-roots Middle Americans. We want to stop the erosion of the New Deal, and restore fiscal integrity to American capitalism. We advocate individual rights as guaranteed by the Constitution, social Liberalism, and fiscal Conservatism.
So, when you bash the Democratic Party, be sure that you understand which faction you are addressing -- the DLC self-appointed Republican-Lite, or the traditional Liberal Democrats that this private blog represents and supports.
I haven't had much time to spend
helping moderate the blog lately, so consider yourself lucky. I'm fresh out of patience, so I'll tell you what I told the last complainer (about how this site is moderated): Email me - necco @ democrats.com (remove the spaces). I doubt it will do any good, as the rules set down have been set down for a reason, but at least you'll have been heard, which is what you want, anyway - isn't it?

Paul, look for the lanterns. We are not members of the Joe Lieberman fan club. We do not like the DLC the would be democrat republicrats. I think that you should get off your horse before you stroke out. We in Illinois vote on paper and fill in the spaces. We here also believe in exit surveys and do know that soemthing was rotten in the state of Ohio with the stench coming from Ken Blackwell.

Speaking of Countdown with Keith Obermann on MSNBC. I have to say that that guy is an answer to FOX. He is a genuine human being interested in dialogue and not shy about calling the insane, INSANE.
He has a WORLDS WORST PERSON segment every night and chose Rush one night because Rush had an adopt a soldier thing going on in which you had to pay $50 to give a soldier access to Rush’s website. As Keith said, how bout letting the soldiers join for free? IT’S CALLED CHARITY!
Howard Stern apparently then played that segment on his radio show and applauded it heartily. He said he is now going to watch Keith.
Tonight’s segment of WORLDS WORST PERSON went to O’Reilly for inviting Terrorists to attack San Fran AND now insulting Gays along with it. Keith asked about what level of Hell is awaiting O’Reilly now that he has ALSO insulted Gays.
