Who's afraid of Hugo Chavez?I just found an interesting article here: http://www.venezuelanalysis.com/news.php?newsno=1736. In it, there is a ray of hope for the world poor. I wonder why Chavez is so upsetting to Pat Robertson and possibly the rest of the lowlives in DC - I know that they have lots of oil shares, but do they also have shares in the health care industry? No wonder then, that they find his attitude threatening to their fat wallets and portfolios. "The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself." (Proverbs 11:25)

Can someone explain Chavez
Can someone explain Chavez to me? The U.S. government hates him - so he must be OK to most people in the world. I have a friend in FL, I spoke to his boyfriend, a Venezuelan, about Chavez. He says that the Venezuelan people hate Chavez too. Someone even mentioned on this board that a coup forced Chavez from office but he was so powerful that he took control of the government again. I asked Sebat doesn't he think it is strange that George Bush only threatens country that have oil. Sebat said that he had never thought of it that way but agreed it was true. He also told me that a lot of people in his country fear Chavez and live in the mountains - kinda like gypsies. So I really am not sure what to think about Chavez. I do take into account Sebat's view because he is from the country but I don't know what to think about these different views.

Venezuela offers fuel, food to hurricane-hit US
Venezuela offers fuel, food to hurricane-hit US
Mon Aug 29, 7:48 PM ET VENEZUELA OFFERS HELP AND THIS IS THE GUY THAT PAT ROBERTSON WANTED THE U.S. TO DO AWAY WITH. ANOTHER THING, JUST HEARD ON MSNBC THAT FRANCE HAS OFFERED TO HELP,. THIS IS THE COUNTRY THAT CONSERVATIVES HATE.
CARACAS (AFP) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez offered to send food and fuel to the United States after the powerful Hurricane Katrina pummeled the US south, ravaging US crude production.
The leftist leader, a frequent critic of the United States and a target himself of US disapproval, said Venezuela could send aid workers with drinking water, food and fuel to US communities hit by the hurricane.
"We place at the disposition of the people of the United States in the event of shortages -- we have drinking water, food, we can provide fuel," Chavez told reporters.
Chavez said fuel could be sent to the United States via a Citgo refinery that has not been affected by the hurricane. Citgo is owned by Venezuela's state-owned oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
In the Gulf of Mexico, which accounts for a quarter of total US oil output, 92 percent of crude and 83 percent of natural gas production were shut down due to Hurricane Katrina, which slammed Louisiana and Mississippi, according to US government data.
Venezuela is the fourth-largest provider of oil to the United States, supplying some 1.5 million barrels a day.
Last week, Chavez offered discount gasoline to poor Americans suffering from high oil prices and on Sunday offered free eye surgery for Americans without access to health care.

someone to explain Hugo Chavea
Hugo Chavez is a very popular president. He has won several elections now each time with a larger percentage of the vote.
The Carter Center which was founded by Jimmy Carter routinely oversees elections in other countries. They were there for
at least the last election and have verified that is was a legitimate and very democratic election. Unfortunately, a small
percentage of the population do not like Chavez. These are the elite that ran the country before Chavez won his first election.
Since they are the richest in the country, they miss having the power they used to have. Some of them helped pull off a coup
in 2002, but the population and the majority of the military became aware that they were being fed lies on one of the principal
television stations and surrounded the building where the "new" leaders were congregated and demanded Chavez' return
to power.
Chavez comes from the people, not the elite. He represents their needs and is working on correcting many injustices suffered
by the poor. He organized a literacy campaign and now no one in the country is illiterate anymore. His desire is to lift the
80% of the population that was in poverty out of this harsh condition and is having success but it does take time to be
100% successful.
The reason he is hated by the US government is that he runs his own show and does not follow their agenda.
Hope this helps. For more info, read THE CARRIBEAN PIRATES.
Venezuela
I'm developing quite an affection for Chevez. You've just gotta respect a fella that takes up for the little guy.
The Venezuelian government is the majority holder of all mineral rights in the country...oil, diamonds, gold, water...all that good stuff. In the past the nation's resources have been exploited by corrupt despots, Chevez didn't like it, and ran for office.
There are wealthy individuals and multi-national corporations that claim ownership of vast estates, most of the land is sitting idle in a country of poor, hungry citizens. Chevez is taking possession of some of this land (if ownership can't be proven) and giving small farms to families so they can grow their own food and have a source of income. He is using part of the oil revenues to build schools, provide healthcare for his countrymen, all sorts of good stuff.
This is a good site to keep abreast of currnet affairs in Venezuela

The only person to really be afraid of Chavez...
would have to be Pat Robertson.
Chavez to help US
. . . with the catastrophic oil depletion in the Gulf. This should be more of a story with our mass media. But I heard (only once)- complete with video - that the Pres of Venezuela will boost up oil production in the wake of the hurricane destruction.
( I think that lil' trip by Rev. Jackson a few days ago really helped. Can't say that about what Bible-thumping Robertson did a few days PRIOR "Katrina" ! )
Venezuela Moves Reserves to Europe
http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.asp?feed=AP&Da...
Now I see why Chavez is a "threat" to the United States! Isn't this one of the reason for that illegal war in Iraq - Not wanting to prop up US currency? Com'on Chavez, we didn't need you to withdraw your money from our treasury, we need you to deposit money. We still need money for Katrina, Rita, Iraq war, Afghan war, defense spending and funding tax breaks for the rich.

It could be the start
It could be the start of a new era. One where the US dollar is no longer the world currency. As soon as oil is bought and sold with the Euro or for that matter any currency other than the US dollar, it is down hill all the way for us.
The irony is that the BA and the neo-cons thought that they could prevent this from happening and what they did was to force it to happen. They thought that they could control the entire planets energy supplys and be kings, they got too greedy and too arrogant.
We are slowly circling the bowl.

Proud member of the reality based community.
I wrote about this to
I wrote about this to relatives before the 2004 election. I guess its time for more letters.
there's also the fact he was
there's also the fact he was democratically elected survived the US-backed coup (unlike Aristede) because he is widely popular with the common people and the military and that he won the US-backed recall election (if only the US had this) by an overwhelming margin. Bush recently had one the leaders of the opposition to the White House so I'm sure the US isn't through trying to eliminate him. Chavex claims he has documented proof of a planned US invasion and a US-backed assasination plan. He also traded cheap oil for doctors educated in Cuba to minister to the poor. Being friends with Castro doesn't win him any points with Bush, either.
Washington's involvement
Lots of the usual suspects that are currently involved in South American and Central American policies right this very minute.
If you doubt that we were involved in the coup do some further searches on the subject.

The timing of The move of
The timing of The move of reserves to Europe may be be Chavez' payback for the refusal of US authorities to extradite a Cuban terrorist, Posada, back to Venezuela on the grounds that he likely faced torture ass per a 9/29/05 story on wsws.org. Domocracy Now did a segment on him a while ago. Posada apparently blew-up a plane, killing 73, committed numerous acts of terrorism in Cuba and assisted US efforts in supporting the Contra terrorists and the death squads in El Salvadore and Honduras when Negroponte was US Ambassador to Honduras. Posada escaped jail in Venezuela and they wanted him back for blowing up the plane. His comrade-in-arms, Bosch, lives comfortably in Miami and was pardoned by the first Bush.
Cuban terrorist
Before going after Chavez the Bush family should look at the dark spot in their own eye. Ever since Iran Contra scandal we know they (the same gang as today) wanted to over thrown S. American countries for their own profit and power. Al Martin of told the Senators in a hearing so they can't not know.

Pat Robertson attacks Chavez
Why would Chavez support a lie? Bin Laden is dead. He was on a kidney machine. Iran wants peaceful plants for power like.. eh US and Israel..the rest of the world?
Pat Robertson is no "Christian leader". He is a politican (greedy second generation rich). For many centuries the powerful clergy have demanded everyone line up behind them against "evil". It is for his own power not for God's. God taught love, peace, etc. not hate and war....killing in his name.
Remember Pat ran for President and is a "power seeker"? He lost big time because people don't trust clergy with their money or democracy. History has proven this to be true. That's why we have Separation of Church and State in our Constitution. It was an important concept to retain democracy and freedom (unlike years of religious war torn Europe).
Many people fled Europe to get away from religious tyranny. Some wanted no religion at all. Nor did they want to support it's ideas or power by force.
Pat Robertson is a "religious Fascist" (unlike Germans support by the Catholic church rulers he makes his own religion). I wonder how many Faith Based dollars go into the Pat's organization for RW support and propaganda? Our government won't release that information. Why is that...corruption for votes? Pat's tax exempt status removed yet?
Pat is a traitor and is trying to start wars (when he himself avoided combat) Is the NSA tapping his phone? Spying on him? Seems to me the government is spying on\supporting the wrong people.
Good for Chavez. The Chinese kicked out those Christain western religious groups trying to change their culture and destroy their country (for their own power and wealth). They didn't even want them to have their own language, etc.
Think about it. Communism is a reaction and revolution to stop religious groups who were trying to ruin a government\culture (Russia, China, Cuba, etc.). Rulers then abuse for other things. You can blame corruption for that not what the people wanted. Their goal wasn't to replace a theocracy for tyranny.
Wish we could declare them illegal and corrupting. That is against our Constitution though. We could not give them a lot of our tax dollars and tax exemption to preserve our democracy from this kind of power abuse. They are "corrupting" and "inflitrating" our democracy using our own money to do it. They want to set government agenda and even rule.
The Constitution says we can't support a "state supported" religion. Giving Faith Based dollars and tax exemption makes them wealthy and way too powerful. It is unconstitutional. They use our tax dollars to advance themselves not help people's souls or the poor. Instead they build new churches, universities and schools (some better than our public ones), and politic. There is no accountability which points the finger of corruption.
No public student loans should go to religious schools or any type. We pay for students to be brain washed by a religion? That's state supported religious funding.
Chavez is dealing with this type of " religious infiltration" because that's what it is. France (a democracy and world power) declared a religious extremist group a cult and kicked them out. Was Pat critical of that?
Note: Bush, Inc. is part of the same crime gang who were responsible for Iran Contra and killing in S. America for power and wealth. The Senate heard Al Martin talk about the Bush Ponzi schemes. Same is true today. They are using war to profit and even mercinaries to kill. Read about it.
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?TTL=&ATH=Al+Martin&WRD=Conspiracy&PRC=&FMT=&AGE=&CID=&z=y Conspirators : Secrets of an Iran Contra Insider by Al Martin. I've read that the mercinary military has even drafted X-Iran Contra people to fight in Iraq, etc. They promised them citiizenship. They pay them well too. They might be used against us in the future like they did in S. America. Yes...Bush is setting up his own military with our money to be used against our own self interest. If that isn't reason for impeachment (and NSA) concern what is? All of S. America and their leaders have to know about this type of "infiltration".
What kind of world would it be if there were no organized religious groups? Peaceful maybe? How many dead over ignorance, religious wars, and fear? Money and power corrupt if we let it in any organization. Even one which says they are God's. We learned about false prophets didn't we in Bible classes?
Contra Redux
The US has called into question the recent parliamentary elections in Venezuela that gave Chavez an overwhelming majority in parliament. This contradicts the international observers conclusion that the election was free and fair and the procedures were approved by the OAS. The parties for the ultra-rich backed by the US boycotted the elections at the last minute and there was sabotage of some oil facilities.
This pattern follows the US game plan to destabilize the democratically elected Sandanista government in Nicaurgua in the mid-80s followed by the US-backed terrorist campaign carried on by the Contras. The Nicaraguans went through the nternational court procedures which resulted in a verdict that the US was Terrorist State. The Venezuelans are bracing themselves for more antagonistic tactics from the US, including an invasion, which apparently Bush has planned for.
Since Venezuela is a large oil producer, it would fit the Iraq mode as a suitable target for Bush. Maybee to usher in the 2006 elections.

Subsidizing the Poor
Chavez is selling heating oil to the Bronx and Boston at a 40% discount to poor people through his US corporation Citgo. Clinton and other senators had sent a letter to the major oil companies to provide similar relief for the poor. No takers from ExxonMobil and its' brethern.
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/07/nyregion/07heat.html
The other big oil companies
The other big oil companies are showing their
true colors.
The President of Venezuela cares more about our low income
households than they do.
Oil companies
Are destroying our economy and way of life. They pollute and get away with it. BP should lose their contract in Alaska. XXon be broken up and run by more accountable oil corporations.
Fidel Castro
"He also traded cheap oil for doctors educated in Cuba to minister to the poor. Being friends with Castro doesn't win him any points with Bush, either."
When did healthcare for the poor become an "unamerican" idea? Bush would be happier if we put poor kids to work to "earn" their own healthcare - the complete opposite of his lucky family-ties lifestyle.
You know who's more American than this royal backstabber of our country? Even a communist like Fidel Castro:
