Beware GOP lies about Democratic vote fraud

When Kerry klobbers Bush on Tuesday, Republicans are not going to admit reality - any more than they admit reality in Iraq.

Instead, Republicans will do what they always do - attack Democrats.

And their main point of attack will be high-decibel charges that Democrats committed massive vote fraud.

Of course, there is massive vote fraud taking place - by Republicans. For details, visit:

Still, you can expect the media to give infinitely greater weight to Democratic fraud.

Yes, there is Democratic fraud, mainly because of paid registrars who cut corners to get off work early. But based on the examples below, it will not affect a single vote. Read that again. While Republicans are engaging in fraud to prevent tens of thousands of Democrats from voting, Democratic fraud will not stop one legitimate Republican vote from being cast or counted, and will not cause one illegitimate Democratic vote to be cast or counted.

Jack Hitt of This American Life asked Republicans to send him the "worst" examples of voter fraud they had, and here's what he got:

He sent me a copy. It's all newspaper clips, many of them unverified charges. There are a few that check out. There really was, for example, this white guy working for an outfit affiliated with the NAACP, who registered voters under names like Mary Poppins and Jeffrey Dahmer, and it's true, he was paid in crack cocaine. Very bad... and a great story. And then there was the Colorado guy who registered himself 35 times. Also true. Also very bad. But the reason you're going to be hearing about these two examples over and over in the offical Republican talking points in the next few days is that that's the best they've got in their hundreds of pages.

Strange enough, reading the very stories they sent often undercut their main argument. For example, that Colorado guy? Here's a line from the article the GOP sent me: "Just because you register someone 35 times, doesn't mean they vote 35 times." Or, here's another one: "Election officials of both parties say that bad registrations do not necessarily translate into election day fraud. New identification laws, as well as signature checks, make ballot box stuffing extremely difficult." Let me repeat: these are quotes from the official Republican vote fraud press packet.

Please see HACKING DEMOCRACY

Perhaps you have heard about it, perhaps you have seen it, and perhaps you haven't. As important as An Inconvenient Truth is, this documentary is something that every citizen in every democratic country should see. This movie provides a clear and specific expose into how we were electorially robbed during the past two presidential elections.

Although the topical matter is different, this documentary was created in the same genre as Michael Moore's Roger and Me: basically, it is one committed individual (in this case, a middle aged woman whose name escapes me) who travels around with one or two people, as a camera crew, and challenges, and exposes, the lies behind the fraud. It is relatively "raw" footage, and you get a front row seat at one of the most significant investigations of our times. This woman should not only receive accolades for her effort as a filmmaker, but also as a citizen of our country and of the world.

Her work is heroic and groundbreaking, but be warned: you won't be able to find Hacking Democracy without effort. Diebold has tried to force HBO to not air it, and the only way I heard about it and saw it was that a coworker had a homemade tape of it and loaned it to me.

If you want to see the truth, see this video. When you have seen it, please reply to this post with your thoughts, and spread the word.
