I can't understand why anyone would still want to wade throught the Schiavo case - especially after the autopsy proved her husband was right about her condition. Where is the political upside?

even if this case goes up for investigation and ends up in a trial --the state of Florida will have to flip -the bill for legal expenses.

The Schindler's are insane , sick people; they love the idea of keeping their daughter alive through the 'legal process' and courts. --Didn't they get it --when the Supreme Court said 'no'.

Although, the 90-minutes of delay time from the point of Terri's collaspe to the point at the ER --seems rather odd; although nobody can prove what exactly happened.---

Terri Schiavo had a brain dysfunction and end of story. --How many more times does this story have to live --rather than letting Ms. Schiavo rest in peace.

Jeb Bush has nothing else to do but keep on being a 'moron'.

Has Governor Jeb ever found a loved one collapsed? Can he even envision what goes through one's mind? Does he think that you watch the clock to time the catastrophe? How does he know that Michael's clock was set right? What does super sleuth CSI Jeb think happened? Does Jeb watch CSI and think that he is a forensics investigator? Michael Schiavo should sue Gov Jeb for slander. This is the worst circus of idiots that I have ever seen. The Schindlers are just not well-informed and think that neurons will regenerate. I feel sorry for them. The governor on the other hand has either entered the the Twilight Zone or, more likely, will do anything to get votes, even if he has to slander someone. Can't Florida do something about Jeb?. As long as he is the governor I will not be seeing Mickey or Minnie or spending my dollars at Disney world or Universal. Believe me the more people who avoid Florida because of Jeb, the more he will hurt the economy. We need to focus on vacation opportunities in Blue states. We won't have any trouble convincing our kids to go there. They know that Mickey and Minnie have been co-opted by the dark side in Florida. By the way, I guess that if Mrs. Jeb should collapse at home, Gov Jeb couldn't call 911 for her. I heard that they have separate homes in different cities. Nothing makes me happier to see the Bush family values in action.

If this would work, Jeb would have two reasons not to use stem cells. First of all his cult of life already makes it a sin to harvest and use stem cells. Second. he really wants us all to lose our brains not regrow them. If we all became really smart, no one would ever vote for a Repug again. We would be unhappy,thinking worker and/or army ants and not support our Uber-rich, no-taxpaying boss ants silently and obediently.

If the loss of oxygen to Jeb's brain proved fatal, it wouldn't be a crime. It would be a miracle. One less Bush to inflict upon our overheating world. The real issue in this case, however, deals with treatment options for Terry Schiavo and whether or not they will have any positive affect so as to "significantly improve herquality of life". The treatment options essentially were the vasodilation therapy offered by Dr. Hammesfahr and the hyperbaric therapy proposed by Dr. Maxfield. While none of the doctors are really involved in stem cell therapy, it was discussed at great length by each of them. Perhpas one of the few agreements between these experts is that stem cell research is currently at the experimental stage and is years away from being accepted either medically or policically. It would not appear from the testimony that this is a viable treatment option at this time.
Hyperbaric therapy has been in use for more than a century. It is used abroad far more than it is used domestically. Medicare recognizes only eleven procedures involving hyperbaric therapy while Russia recognizes almost seven times that many. Dr. Maxfield felt there was an 80% chance of improvement in Spect Scan results from hyperbaric therapy. He has seen such with similar patients. Also, he felt there was a significant probability Terry Schiavo would improve cognitive ability with hyperbaric treatment. Drs. Greer, Bambakidis and Cranford have all referred patients for hyperbaric therapy but none for this type of brain injury. They felt that such therapy would have no affect on Terry Schiavo. It is interesting to note the absence of any case studies since this therapy is not new and this condition has long been in the medical arena.
Dr Hammesfahr feels his vasodilation therapy will have a positive affect on Terry Schiavo. Drs. Greer, Bambakidis and Cranford do not feel it will have such an affect. It is clear that this therapy is not recognized in the medical community.Dr Hammesfahr operates his clinic on a cash basis in advance which made the discussion regarding Medicare eligibility quite irrelevant. A lot of the time also was spent regarding his nominations for a Nobel Prize. While he certainly is a self-promoter and should have had for the court's review a copy of the letter from the Nobel committee in Stockholm, Sweden, the truth of the matter is that he is probably the only person involved in these proceedings who had a United States Congressman recommend him for such an award. Whether the committee "accepted" the nomination, "received" the nomination or whatever, it is not that significant. What is significant, however, and what undemises his credability is that he did not present to this court any evidence other than his generalized statements as to the efficacy of his therapy on brain damaged individuals like Terry Schiavo. He testified that he has treated about 50 patients in the same or worse condition than Terry Schiavo since 1994 but he offered no names, no case studies, no videos and no test resulots to support his claim taht he had success in all but one of them. If his therapy is as effective asx he would lead this court to believe, it is inconceivable that he would not produce clinical results of these patients he has treated. And surely the medical literature would be replete with this new, now patented, procedure. Yet, he has only published one article and that was in 1995 involving some 63 patients, 60% of whom were suffering from whiplash. None of these patients were in a persistent vegetative state and alll were conversant. Even he acknowledges that he is aware of no article or study that shows vasodilation therapy to be an effective treatment for persistent vegetative state patients. The court can only assume that such substantiations are not available, no t just catalogued in such as wasy that they can not be readily identified as he testified.
Neither Dr. Hammesfahr nor Dr. Maxfield was able to credibly testify that he treatment options that they offered would significantly improve Terry Schiavo,s quality of life. While Dr. Hammesfahr blithely stated he should be able to get her to talk, he admitted he was not sure in what way he can improve her condition although he feels certain her can. He also told the court that "only rarely" do his patients have no improvement. Again, he is extremely short of specifics. Dr. Maxfield spoke of a "chance" of recovery althougy he stated there was a significant probability that hyperbaric therapy would improve her condition. blah, blah, blah....blah, blah HOEY!

Do these two really have licenses? What are the licenses for? If you pay some people to do or say anything, they will do it. We have learned that from the "expert witness" pool who swim in the dark, murky waters and venture out to attack. No one could have brought back her neurons. They had long since died and been replaced by scar tissue. It is too bad that charlatans exist in every field and know that a sucker is born every minute. Just think, a new little Jeb every minute. No he isn't a sucker,he is a Bush preying on all of us.

We aren't falling for it, but if I heard it from one person, I heard it from ten people, that they think that Michael Schiavo is a wife beater. Then, Jeb starts his cold case file. I just don't think that he should be allowed to slander Michael Schiavo anymore. Besides,I am enjoying the attack. I did enjoy Dr.Senator Frist doing surgery on his own mouth and foot. He was trying to extract the foot from his mouth. He never made a video diagnosis,no,not ever.
