Take Action Now Against Bankruptcy BillAn impressive coalition has been assembled during the past week to work, against all odds, for the defeat in the Congress of a bankruptcy bill passed last month in the Senate. The House is expected to vote on the bill (S. 256) this week. The groups lobbying against it include: Democrats.com, Progressive Democrats of America, AFL-CIO, Billionaires for Bush, Black Commentator, Center for American Progress, Democracy Week, The Nation, National Community Reinvestment Coalition, National Organization for Women, People's Email Network, Politology, Public Citizen, and more. See list at www.debtslavery.org These organizations have been encouraging their members to Email, phone, and fax Congress. Members of these groups will rally outside the district offices of targeted Members of Congress around the country on Wednesday April 6 at noon local time. To get involved and to Email and phone your congress member, go here: http://elandslide.org/elandslide/display2.cfm?id=1329&type=Action%20Kit

David Van OS
David Van Os is an upcoming poliical figure who walks the walk and talks the talk. You will be hearing more and more about Mr. Van Os as we get close to the midterms. He wil be running in the mid terms, I have enclosed his thought of the day:
Dear Family and Friends,
People are weary of politicians and political activists who try to please everybody. Be decisive about right and wrong. Every minute of your life, your heart tells you what is right and what is wrong about every situation. When you think something is right, say so and guide your actions accordingly. When you think something is wrong, say so and guide your actions accordingly.
Do not "position" yourself. Act according to your sense of right and wrong, good and bad, and be decisive about it. This will lead you to make mistakes, but that is OK. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes, everybody knows that everybody makes mistakes, and people will forgive your mistakes if they are honest mistakes. Do not straddle fences, do not try to please both sides of a dispute, act decisively and firmly according to your judgment of right and wrong. Your heart gives you such judgments every moment of your existence. Follow them.
If you follow this advice, people will learn to trust you as someone whom they can count on to choose right over wrong. This is what voters and non-voters are hungry for. This is why millions of voters switched to Bush in the last month of the campaign. They decided they could trust him to do what he thinks is right and be decisive about it (whether they agreed with him or not), while they could see that John Kerry was always trying to "position" himself. This essential quality of leadership is what the Democratic consultantocracy and Congressional aristocracy utterly fail to understand. This is populism, democracy, and republicanism. Go for it.

Do I understand Mr. Van Os co
Do I understand Mr. Van Os correctly? Is he saying that Dubya's appeal to the masses is his "honesty?" Or, is he saying that Dubya's ability to lie with a straight face is what wins elections?
Sounds to me like Mr. Van Os is a Republican apologist, and is attacking John Kerry as being somehow dishonest. Van Os sounds very much like either a Republican, or a DLC-er to me.
Ya think
he's trying to "position" himself?
Yeah, I liked what he began w
Yeah, I liked what he began with, but I reject any bullshit about nuance. Sometimes life is complex and requires a complex answer. I'm sick of the Right and Left (at times) attacking Kerry for example about his nuanced answers. Straddling fences for the sake of winning votes is wrong and only a short term strategy anyway. However, any answer, any response, and any sentiment that is NOT complex when it is called for, dumbs down America and should be rejected. Categorizing a complex answer in such cases as fence sitting or ambiguous is total bullshit. It is up to us to form the base of the pyramid for our party so candidates can speak their mind.
Bush would not have been re-elected if we had a press.
Republicans, in anything like their present form, will not survive if we build the base of our pyramid.
