other "news"

I know EVERYTHING is out of whack since this clown took office but I have noticed in the small print of the "news", Ashley Smith, the woman in Georgia who was instrumental in the capture and arrest of the "courthouse killer," only receives $20,000 of the $60,000 award offered.  CNN "news" claims they haven't decided yet where or to who the remaining $40,000 will be spent.   Ashley Smith should have gotten the full reward as promised for information leading to the arrest of Brian Nichols. Without her he would still be running around and doing God knows what to innocent victims.  At a time, in our not too distant past, she would have gotten the full $60,000 as advertised.  I feel like there's another story here somewhere not being told.   I know, most things on the "news" is just weapons of mass distraction, as Reverend Sharpten says, and it is true. I was just curious about this little information - they're not saying much regarding the reward - I think they already had plans for that  money before Mr. Nichols was even captured, that's why there's not much mention of it. Thanks for reading this, I was just curious. Sharonsharken4@bb.com

What was the language in the

What was the language in the original reward notice? This is very strange. Is she fighting it at all?

The first I heard of it, it was scrawled across the screen on the bottom - al I caught at the last minute was rregarding the 460,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Brian Nichols and she would share the reward.

Then a few days later I heard she would get $20,ooo and it was not determined yet where the remaining money would go. But again, I caught the last part.

I don't know if she is fighting this decision or not - I certainly would. She was instrumental in capturing this guy. Tthey could not have done it without her. She may have spared other lives.

That is strange - that's why I'm wondering if there's more to the story.

A quick goggle brought this info

The 26-year-old single mother who led police to accused courthouse gunman Brian Nichols may be on her way to collecting more than one reward offered in the aftermath of a rampage that left a judge and three others dead.

Governor Sonny Perdue told reporters yesterday that Ashley Smith -- quote -- "absolutely deserves" the ten-thousand dollars the state offered in the capture of Nichols.

Do you think she should get the entire reward that was offered before police captured Nichols?

The U.S. Marshals Service said it would pay $25,000 to Smith, and the Georgia Sheriffs' Association said it would ante up $5,000. Perdue said Tuesday that his office had authorized $10,000 in reward money, and he called on the others to do so as well.

The money was part of an overall $60,000 that was offered for information leading to Nichols' capture. It was not immediately clear when the money will be paid.

The only agency yet to make a decision on awarding the reward is the FBI, which offered $20,000.

"There is a process associated with any reward money promised by the FBI," spokesman Steve Lazarus said. "We fully recognize that Ashley Smith is eligible for the reward money for the capture of Brian Nichols. That said, the process is ongoing and we will discuss neither the process nor the timetable for its completion."

On Tuesday, Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue authorized the transfer of $10,000 to Smith for the capture of Nichols. Smith, who is staying with relatives in Augusta, could receive the check as soon as Wednesday.

Perdue said he hoped other agencies that offered rewards would honor Smith as well. The FBI promised $20,000, the U.S. Marshal's Service offered $25,000, and the Georgia Sheriff's Association offered $5,000.

Some of the locals are thinking there may be some other

issues which may be the reason she there may be a slow roll of this reward money. We read one thing in the news, but it seems that
some think, maybe the FBI that he may have had a relationship with
this woman prior, and returned to her because they had a history.
She did seem to trust him a bit much, considering he probably has
such a scary demeanor, raping women and all that i found her story a little difficult to believe, but I believed her.

My friends that live in the area state that there should be a further investigation into her background. Where did she come from? It seems he did not drive randomly as she stated (according to my friends, there is no random driving in Atlanta due to the amount of traffic, one ususally has a planned route), but specifically went to a specific apartment complex. Her daughter staying with someone else is telling.
It seems she does not have her daughter, may have been a former drug addict, criminal, somehow involved with the law, not sure of the details. The questions came about when someone was asking why she did not have custody of her daughter. My friends think there is more to the story, and if they think so, the officials may think so, so there should be some inquiry before dishing out money.

If she had a prior, if she knew this guy prior (they say he was from Baltimore, but he actually originated from Africa, and Africans are
not used to the racist rhetoric they must deal with in the south, nor or they used to these court systems that sometimes convict you before you have a trial, are extremely jealous, sometimes violent, and would rape if in a relationship), and they had a history the FBI may want to be sure there is no hanky panky going on.

I mean, her story as good as it sounds should be checked out before
she gets all of the reward money. She was in a bad way financially, just getting her a new place, and she does not have custody of her daughter. Check it out before giving the reward. There is nothing wrong with that.
