If you have had an Opportunity to see "Outfoxed" you will know that everything Fox Reports is scripted and commentary, they get a memo everyday on their focus and thats what they focus on, making the GOP look great. I know I know! Fox News is a disgrace to journalism. The concept of freedom of the press came about because the British colonial gov't was intolerant of skeptical news reporting. This intolerance was a hallmark of an oppressive regime. The founding fathers realized that the suppression of speech critical of the ruling gov't was essential to a healthy democracy. Fox has never critisized this administration against overwhelming evidence otherwise. Had Fox been around back then, they would have been the paper of the Tories, an apologist for the colonial gov't abuses.

If Fox wants to be a gov't apologist and news dissemination outlet for the administration, thats fine, it should just be honest about it. It should not call its work "journalism" as was envisioned by the founding fathers. Fox should just call itself a public relations arm of the current administration.

I was stuck in a hospital for 2 weeks earlier this year and the only 24/7 News Channel they had was FOX.

Oh, it was worse than my hospital stay!!!!

After I got out of the hospital with a completely new awareness of FOX (I forced myself to watch it for learning purposes only - not for the News), I ordered "OutFoxed" and could not agree more with most of what Robert Greenwald points out.

The Hypocrisy floors me and people believe this crap as News. There is more HATE spewed on that Channel and we should be very worried about that. People such as Osama Bin Laden and George W. Bush spew Fear and Hatred and both have amassed followers everywhere.

I found my blood pressure going up just watching it, the ticker at the bottom that points out every 5 minutes "Terror Alert - Elevated." Heck, I thought it had been raised, but it was just there to continue the fear tactics of unfair and unbalanced reporting....

I do recommend to anyone to spend the money and somehow watch OutFoxed (it was in movie theaters but now may be in some rental stores by now).

BTW, if the media were so Liberal, then why did Bush win and the Republicans make gains in the Senate? After all, they have the power to persuade through what they choose to air or not.

When I saw this movie I thought fox was unfair but I never assumed it was scripted.

I mean Fox TV the regular channel. That is the engine for their $$$ If we Boycott that channel we affect their propaganda arm.

I haven't watched Fox News for years, so I don't know who their advertisers are. If someone could post them, we would be able to boycott the products and begin letter writing campaigns.

The liberals, rightly so, were the first ones to come to the defense of the Rappers, and Howard Stern to support their right to free speach, to have their unopposed foulmouthed, misogenic, immoral say.

Fox News at least gives people a chance to respond. Every segment has a point counter point. Al Sharpton, Bono, Susan Sarandon, Rosie O'Donnel, have all had ample time to discuss their issues, without interruption.

Kerry was invited over and over again, but he refused. Why can't the democrat win in the arena of IDEAS???

Don't boycott Fox News, bombard them with speakers, and guests, and emails with a coherent message that will resonate with the American people.

Remember, the 60 million people that voted for the guy who won, watch Fox News. The 55 million that voted for the loser, don't. I doubt seriously that a planned boycott, from people that already don't watch the #1 rated cable news channel is going to be very credible or effective.

Please explain to me, in what sense does FOX news ever give people a chance to respond? If you are referring to them inviting Kerry and others on as guests... sure, Kerry was invited, but why should he accept? So that Bill O'Reilly can constantly interrupt him and tell him to shut up? I have never seen somebody who disagrees with Bill O'Reilly get in a complete sentence on his show without having their mics cut or being verbally attacked. It's the same with the other anchors- they are more polite about it, but if something is said that conservatives don't want on the air, the guest is interrupted and told they are out of time. FOX rarely cites sources for its supposed "news", and while there is often a counter-point, it is usually biased and worded in such a way to discredit the counterpoint.

Boycott their sponsors. Fox could careless if democrats don't watch their show. But Boycotting their sponsors will hit them where it counts, in their pocket book.

Someone take this idea and run with it. I would but I don't have the time or resources to go far or fast.

Society has a right and obligation to protect children from sex offenders. I recognize that people have a right to privacy and that sex between consenting adults, whether gay or straight, is no one’s business except the participants. But when sex occurs without consent, which is rape, or when sex involves children, society must intervene.

The case of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski involved two consenting adults. While their behavior may not have been appropriate by some people's standards it was no one’s business except their own. Many millions of tax dollars were spent and numerous laws broken nosing into and uncovering their private lives. The mainstream media provided headlines accompanied by excruciating detail, including the shape of Clinton’s penis, etc. This was politically motivated, mean-spirited and totally inappropriate.

While any scurrilous rumor about Clinton, substantiated or not, received wide publicity allegations and even known facts about GOP poster boys like Newt Gingrich almost always go unreported. An example is the story that Ronald Reagan raped a young actress named Selene Walters after seeing her in a bar and forcing his way into her apartment. That was before the term “date rape” had been coined and, to be fair to date rapists, Walters described the scene in interviews with People Magazine and Kitty Kelley and said it was not date rape because “I didn't have a chance to have a date with him”.

All of Reagan’s dalliances went nowhere in the media because Reagan, who was divorced, got Nancy pregnant before their wedding and slapped around his daughter, was the moral exemplar for conservative republicans who control the portals of power in so much of our national media. Had the story been known perhaps Reagan, who provided lavish funding for Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, and was involved in helping nazi’s and other fascist war criminals immigrate into the U.S. after WW II, might never have been elected.

Flash forward to today. The Internet has been filled with numerous stories about George W. Bush’s private life. Most of these, like the story about Bush’s alleged affair with Tammy Phillips, a partner in a workout gym in Carrolltown, TX, fall into the category of private business between consenting adults. Even though Phillips claims she has “evidence” I don’t think the matter should be investigated.

However the allegation that Bush had sex with a 15-year-old minor is a different story. Society has an obligation in cases involving child abuse or rape, in this case statutory rape, to investigate. I realize that people who do not support Bush’s political agenda could have made the story up. But that is a good reason to investigate the case and, if it is untrue, then clear Bush’s name and expose whoever started the rumor.

Let’s go back for a minute to the many allegations about Bill Clinton, for example that he had an affair with Gennifer Flowers. This allegation was widely disseminated in the national news but on investigation it was found that Flowers had been paid $125,000 for the story by a supermarket tabloid and $50,000 by a group called the “Concerned Republicans”. She had denied the same allegations 2 years before under oath, and she claimed the tryst occurred at a hotel that was not built until 2 years after the alleged rendezvous. In this case efforts by GOP operatives to smear Clinton were exposed and the republicans, who have been so successful in using sexual innuendo to ruin opponents careers and lives, were unsuccessful.

In Bush’s case the alleged facts are these: In the winter of 1971 George W. Bush was dating a woman whose maiden name was Robin Lowman, now Robin Garner. Miss Lowman became pregnant by Mr. Bush, who would have been 25 years old at the time and legally an adult. Bush, and or members of his family, helped arrange an abortion which, in those days before Roe v. Wade, was illegal in Texas. The alleged abortion took place at the Twelve Oaks Hospital in Houston (now called the Bayou City Medical Center). As far as I have been able to determine there is no statute of limitations for prosecuting statutory rape in Texas.

I do not know if the allegations are true or not. I did not make them. These allegations have been posted on Internet web sites and by some magazine publishers. I feel it is very unfair for the mainstream media to routinely publicize any and all allegations about democratic politicians like Clinton or JFK while ignoring allegations about George W. Bush. While the thought of sex offender signs being posted around Bush’s White House and Houston homes may scare some republicans, the GOP made clear under Clinton that the sexual morality of the President is an issue of grave importance to them. No one, not even the President, is above the law.

I say this case should be investigated. If Bush is found to be a rapist, child molester and solicitor of illegal abortion services then I feel he should be impeached. If on the other hand the story is proven false, I feel the stories should be removed from the Internet and an apology offered to Bush.

Boycotting FOX wont even make the evening news.
Listen, NATIONAL SMOKEOUT DAY is next Thursday. Imagine the Big 3 reporting on the plight of smokers and then having to report how millions of party loyalists banded together to draw attention to their cause - the true verification of the election results.
Network TV has even been told to move on and not report on our election concerns, but picture the reaction as they realize that we werenot fooling around and actually disconnected from aour cable and satellite providers.
It is only fitting since FOX, and to an only slightly lessor degree, CNN and MSNBC, acted as the puppets of the right, rallying them into a frenzy with their opinions being delivered as facts.
Imagine the advertisers, hearing on the Big 3 and the cover of all the nations newspapers, that half the nation was not seeing their ads at the start of their holiday ad campaigns. Imagine the weight that these advertisers might throw around as they clammered for airtime on the Big 3.
Think of the unintended victioms (every war has them), ofd Discovery Channel, Nickolodeon, etc. and the weight that their execs might throw around as they realize that they are losing viewer share. Also, these unintended victims might help further the cause of having stations offered on a menu basis, so that those of us who do reconnect, might chose to opt out of allowing the likes of FOX a position on our TV dials (remember when they had dials-ha!)
Think of the warning this would send to the Big 3 - stick to journalism - dont copy FOX to gain marketshare - it can bite you.
Spread the word and we could make the news by next Thursday.

I know one thing --no matter what Bush/Cheney have ever done in their past lives ---(drugs, extortion, both have arrest records) --the Repug party somehow prevails in their own 'denial'...

Further, Bush is the 'poster boy'..for what most 'right-wing, conservative, repugs believe in ; 'born-again'...from 'drugs, alcohol, corruption, fraud, etc..) --- they love the idea of 'forgiveness'..as long as you repent.

Well, this is unexeptable when it comes to the 'leadership' of this country. --Maybe it works well in some parts of the 'red states'..but too much repression makes for 'whacky people'....
