During the late 80s/early 90s the GOP "theme" seemed to be term limits.  The feeling was "Hey, if we can't beat them then we might as well defeat them with time."
 
The arguments against term limits, including the fact that we already had term limits called elections, seemed to fall on deaf ears.  Experience?  Institutional knowledge?  Nothing worked.  So, in 1992, the voters of my home state, Florida, decided that "Eight is Enough."
 
Well, now that the GOPers are in charge, guess what?  Term limits are not the panacea they claimed!  Here's proof from our own GOP House speaker:
