Remove Lieberman for lies to the people
In 2004 Joe Lieberman ran against Lamont. When Lieberman lost the primary he changed parties and stole the election with lies. Lieberman accused Lamont of "tampering with their computers", and yet Lieberman knew this was a false statement even as he made it public. Lieberman continued to acuse when he knew the facts said differently. Another words he lied to we the people. The FBI had already found that it was in fact Lieberman's own people who screwed up their own web site's computers not Lamont's people and yet knowing this Joe Lieberman lied anyway to win at all costs. In the 2000 campaign Lieberman used funding from both his Senate race funds as well as the funding from his run as Vice President. We had to change the laws so no one else could collect from both funds at once. It was unfair and selfish for Lieberman to do this to the party and those of us who donated to the party. Joe Liebermans selfishness at that time depleted campaign funding that could have gone to a real Democrat who was more interested in we the people then Joe Lieberman whose only interest continued to be himself and his power. I have no doubt that once Lieberman meant change, now that name only represents himself. Lieberman's selfishness shows time and time again. Like George Bush we know without a doubt that Lieberman will always vote for Corporate interests and not those of the common people who voted for him. I am not one of those people who voted for Joe Lieberman. I voted for Lamont and I hope that Lamont runs again and gives us another chance. Imagine a real Democrat in office who doesn't need the money and is running just for we the people and not for the power a candidate elected gets to enjoy? Now let's imagine them being there to actually help us! What unselfishness Lamont has, how un-Lieberman-like Lamont is, and we need unselfishness right now in office.
In 2007 Lieberman voted with McCain and attended McCain campaign rallies as if he were a Republican and not a Democrat. Joe Lieberman voted with Bush most of the time and even spoke out against Obama claiming we will 'be in danger if we voted for Obama and that he "knew Obama wasn't a good person, that Obama was not honorable". These are not exact quotes but that was the idea Joe wanted us to believe, anything but not the truth. Lieberman didn't act for the people who elected him then, or the party in those moments, he acted like a traitor to both the party and those who elected him. Perhaps Joe Lieberman assumed McCain could make him Vice President after all, but McCain had no such power as it turned out. The GOP wasn't going to allow McCain to appoint his own VP or he would have chosen Lieberman. Still, there was Joe Lieberman by McCain's side. Perhaps Joe Lieberman was expecting a cabinet appointment? Thank God McCain didn't get his way and lost the election anyway. Imagine a White House with a President who is for GOP tactics and a Vice President who has the tie vote in Congress to break, and that person could have been Joe Liebeman? Who do you suppose, if he were elected as the GOP Vice President he would have vote with? Certainly the party would have thrown him out then, but perhaps not.
We should not tolerate Lieberman or his kind any longer in our party. We should not continue to re-elect liars to our party. The only person Joe Lieberman is for is himself. I can't think of a single time he has responded to me and I am one of his constituents! In the next Congressional election "Joe must Go" should be our slogan in CT.. I have no idea why the Party didn't knock him out for his betrayal of both the people he is supposed to represent and the party that he turned his back on. Lieberman out right lied to us about Obama, and Lieberman lied to the people about how he felt about ending the war in Iraq. The only reason this traitor wasn't booted out by the party is because they "needed his votes in Congress"? Are they kidding? This just shows me that although a person claims to be a Democrat, like Joe Lieberman, they may still betray us and betray the party time and again and it's time for change. It's time we no longer tolerated betrayal or lies or selfishness in our elected officials.
We barely survived a President that betrayed the country and who should be impeached for openly announcing on ABC that he approved of torturing prisoners. Imagine that? A President that goes on TV and announces he endorces what we know to be war crimes and only a few newspapers bothered to even ran the story! There was hardly any media coverage about this law breaking president's announcement on national TV. Let's no longer tolerate our leaders betraying us in the name of a party even our own party. Joe Lieberman must go. The party may support him but I do not and I'd bet no one in CT that is paying attention will in the next election either, but lets make sure. After all there are always those who don't pay attention, or worse, those who listen to only Fox News Network. If we are going to have true change we need to rid the party of both Bush Democrats and Senators like Joe Lieberman who lied to us and still enjoys the office and the benefits that we the people paid for, literally.
