George W. Bush and Murder

The first night of this illegal invasion, as Baghdad was being bombarded, I wondered, who are those bombs falling on? Whose lives are being eliminated and why? Had the Iraqis' rocketed bombs our way, shot at our military, been responsible for 9/11? Later I would realize that the answer to all of these thoughts, no. Not one Iraqi citizen had harmed one American citizen in any way. Rumsfield called these 5000 lb. bombs; smart bombs. Were these bombs so smart that they could tell the difference between an innocent Iraqi child? Innocent Iraqi woman or man? Again; no.

Before we go to war with another nation, don't they have to do something to incite us before we invade their country and slaughter their citizens?

Is our military at fault? Absolutely NOT! We have the best amd most honorable soldiers defending our country. They are given orders and they follow orders. They also are fed the same propaganda that the rest of our country was fed. I want them home because I support them. They have been put in harms way under false pretenses. This does not detract from their nobility or dedication. On the contrary it has shown just how dedicated they are. An honest Commander-in-Chief would never invade another country under false pretenses. Would never put any human life in jeopardy, our troops, or citizens from another sovereign nation.

There can be no doubt that this administration lied over  and over again because they wanted this invasion. Bush told prominent Texas writer, Mickey Herskowitz in 1999, a year before he became President, "If I ever had a chance to prosecute a war with Iraq, I would, because I would want the American people to look at me as a great Commander-in-Chief." Could this have been the real motivating factor to want to invade Iraq? It's more than just a good possibilty.

If this is true then Bush is not only a murderer, but a mass-murderer. We know of the lies given for invading Iraq, we know not the truth. Hopefully a prosecution will come and the truth will be extracted, convictions obtained, and the correct punishment dealt to these cowardly warmongers. NO PARDONS!!!

The Iraq War Was About Oil, All Along

Welcome to the forum Tom.

It was all lies. Maybe George wanted to show his father that he was a man, that he could finish the job that daddy started. Who knows, but for those who were planning and who executed the "war", Chaney and Rumsfeld and the group at PNAC it was about collecting on a very old oil deal and creating "American Empire" and about getting very rich.

By Bill Moyers and Michael Winship, Bill Moyers Journal. Posted July 5, 2008.

Oh, no, they told us, Iraq isn't a war about oil. That's cynical and simplistic, they said. It's about terror and al-Qaeda and toppling a dictator and spreading democracy and protecting ourselves from weapons of mass destruction. But one by one, these concocted rationales went up in smoke, fire and ashes. And now the bottom line turns out to be ... the bottom line. It is about oil.

Alan Greenspan said so last fall. The former chairman of the Federal Reserve, safely out of office, confessed in his memoir, "Everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil." He elaborated in an interview with The Washington Post's Bob Woodward, "If Saddam Hussein had been head of Iraq and there was no oil under those sands, our response to him would not have been as strong as it was in the first Gulf War."

Remember, also, that soon after the invasion, Donald Rumsfeld's deputy, Paul Wolfowitz, told the press that war was our only strategic choice. "We had virtually no economic options with Iraq," he explained, "because the country floats on a sea of oil."

Shades of Daniel Plainview, the monstrous petroleum tycoon in the movie, "There Will Be Blood." Half-mad, he exclaims, "There's a whole ocean of oil under our feet!" then adds, "No one can get at it except for me!"

No wonder American troops only guarded the Ministries of Oil and the Interior in Baghdad, even as looters pillaged museums of their priceless antiquities. They were making sure no one could get at the oil except ... guess who?

Here's a recent headline in The New York Times: "Deals With Iraq Are Set to Bring Oil Giants Back." Read on: "Four western companies are in the final stages of negotiations this month on contracts that will return them to Iraq, 36 years after losing their oil concession to nationalization as Saddam Hussein rose to power."
