Obama
Democrat Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. was elected President of the United States on November 4, 2008. Prior to that, he had served four years as a U.S. senator from Illinois (2005-2008) and eight years as an Illinois state senator (1996-2004).arack Obama says he was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961, to a white mother from Kansas and a black Muslim father from Kenya. His parents had met when they were students at the University of Hawaii. If Barack Obama loses the 2008 election, liberal hell will break loose.Seven weeks before the 2008 presidential election, liberals are warning America that if Barack Obama loses, it is because Americans are racist. Of course, that this means that Democrats (and independents) are racist, since Republicans will vote Republican regardless of the race of the Democrat, is an irony apparently lost on the Democrats making these charges.

And your point is...? Most
And your point is...? Most Republicans did NOT vote for Obama, and as you can see there have been no riots in the streets.
There are certainly unhappy racists all throughout the South, and in some of the "Big Sky" states, but they are still free to burn their crosses, and dance around the pretty flames while covered head-to-toe in bedsheets.
The fact is, that the best person for the job was elected by a much larger MAJORITY of Americans than Dubya received in both of his "elections." McCain and Caribou Barbie were just not up to the task, and all of their negative advertising, and outright lies, came back to haunt them in the polling places around this country.
And finally, your little dig about Obama's birth puts you right up there with the rest of your Republican friends who have their knickers in a knot about him being half-black. Get over it, and you may just be able enjoy being free from a senseless war, and seeing American-style Capitalism (Capital AND Labor) flourish again.
Election 2008: Republican Rule versus Change. (NOT race).
And that is the point Rose: If folks voted for more of the same, then something would be amiss.
I don't think pointing to possible racism would then be absurd (even if it were not true and another reason could be found).
I mean, it was on the Republican's watch that:
-we were attacked on 911.
-that we did NOT pursue those who attacked us, by dropping the war in Afghanistan for oil dollars for the few in Iraq.
-historic surpluses were turned into historic deficits.
-monopolies were allowed to grow unchecked, withdrawing thousands upon thousands of dollars of capital from every USA household.
-etc.
I've heard nonsensical arguments about race from both sides. In that we can commiserate ;)

A Question for the President Elect
How will you remove the stain on our Constitution left by the failure of this Congress to honor their oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution in the face of so many well documented and researched violations attributed to Bush, Cheney et al?
The Constitution does not empower Speaker Pelosi to take impeachment "off the table". The repudiation of Bush's impeachable actions through the Constitutionally mandated process of impeachment is the only way to demonstrate to the world that our system of government works for the people and for a nation of laws.
