Who better than a state senator

who brought together prosecutors & defense attorneys,

police officers & victims advocates,

and achieved death penalty reform

and after years of emotional debate without him,

and won the right to videotaped interrogations in murder cases -

Who better than such a man

to now bring together every stakeholder in our broken health care system -

doctors & patients

hospital administrators & yes, health insurance companies

to create a solution that allows every American to afford health insurance

Who better than a brilliant mind

who was president of the Harvard Law Review

and his constitutional law professor’s best student ever,

to grasp the complexity of the issues that face this country

to have the vision to predict the futility of a war that took our eye off Al Qaeda in Afganistan

and to predict our current financial crisis and need for better regulation
