Hey everyone! I am new here
I just want to say Hello to everyone. I am new here. I live in Florida and feel pretty isolated amoung friends down here. They all seem to be gopers, and rabid ones at that. Anyhow, I found this site and thought that for my sanity I maybe could connect with some like minded individuals to share my political feelings with. I am so excited about this election. We do so desperately need the change that Sen. Obama can bring. Anyhow, I feel happy to be here. :)

I am voting for Barack
I am voting for Barack because I feel he's the best man for the job at this time. We have tried devisive politics in the last 5 elections and it just makes me sick. I also feel that he's got the best intellect among the candidates. Call me crazy, but I want someone who has an intellectual curiosity about our country as well as the world.
He has a plan for health care, for taxes, for global warming, and many other issues, McCain doesn't seem to have any plan except to malign Obama. Who believes all this garbage anyway? I guess the intellectually lazy people do, but our country needs someone like Obama to inspire and lead us. He's the closest thing to FDR that I've seen in my lifetime.

welcome to the site :) and let me add I feel your pain I to am in the south among gopers, but I refuse to hang my head I stand firm to what I value and what I belive, ha just the other day someone asked who I was going to vote for I told them I already voted for obama, and another person said "I wouldnt admit that out loud" I said back to her why Im not ashamed and when you have health care you can afford and lower taxes you can thank me lol :P

You do know what Im talking about, stdyofman. I try to stick up for Obama, but this group of friends, just start screaming their hatred. It is so bad, I cancelled plans with them this week, because I just wasn't up to the hate. No matter what I say, they don't listen, just yell over my voice. Nice friends, huh? Maybe I should get some new ones. thats a whole other story!! Anyhow I have already voted too and I am getting so antsy, I just wish this election was over. I watch the tv news channels, check the internet pollls, I know I should stop, but I just can't. I have become obsessed with Obama's winning. Hopefully, the polls are right. thanks for the welcome!

Like you, I felt very alone in Republican Orange County, CA.
However, since joining here, right after Bush II stole election #2,
our numbers have been growing.
We just hit the 500,000. mark for new registered Democrats in
OC a few weeks back.
We're turning OC purple!
