My Vote for Obama

I, too, marched against the Vietnam War when in high school and college, and I was against the Iraq War before it started.  My first candidate choice was Dennis Kucinich because of his stance against the war, because of his health care plan, and because he knows what it's like to search through the sofa cushions for lunch money.  When he dropped out, the Obama sign went up in my front yard.  I'm sick of government for the rich, of the rich, by the rich and throw everybody else to the wolves.  We need to get back to community, to we're all in this together, to I am my brother's keeper.

This election decides our fate

I am voting for Obama for the same reason I always vote for Democratic candidates:  He is the lesser of two evils.  He is part of the most cowardly, spineless group ever:  the Senate Democrats, who have rolled over time and again for the Bush/Cheney crime syndicate.  He is the same corporate-owned shill the Democrats always put forth, albeit a better speaker than most.

But the alternative, the war-mongering McCain, with his empty-headed mannequin of a running mate and his determination to continue and expand every disastrous policy the Democrats have failed and refused to stop Bush and Cheney from perpetrating, will be the final destruction of what is left of our country.

My vote for Obama

I am voting for Obama for many reasons, but most importantly because he 'gets it' that our most pressing problems are fundamentally related, and that getting off oil addresses them ALL at the same time: environmental, economic, national security and the war on terror

Obama

I love his strength, his even temper, decisiveness, daring, caring, down-to-earth, honesty, integrity, and I am looking forward to having hope again.

I love that even during the worst smears McPalin dished out, when Obama hit back it was always with the truth, not just lying smears. I also like that he didn't seem to feel it was necessary to 'hit back' at every little McPalin smear! Thats Integrity!

If anyone can bring us Peace, it is Barack Obama!

Bless you and all you love, Mr. Obama... Mr. President.

I like him because he's not

I like him because he's not Dubya.  I also like him because he's not McCain.  But I also like the tenor of his campaign, which is moderation (fiscally), toleration (a dearth of that her in the States lately), and i hope and pray he fixes the rule of law.  Fix the Justice Dept.,  adhere to the rights of Congress to issue subpoenas that will be obeyed.

It's gonna be a tough haul for whomever is in there.  I guess my point is we gotta work hard for a while to right this ship.

This election can change the world for the better.

Obama sees the world the way it really is, meaning he wears no blinders. His nature is to look for the truth, always. He is thoughtfully analytical and demonstrates a proactive/focused way of dealing with issues and life. This puts him way ahead of the pack. In addition, Mr. Obama is highly intelligent, insightful, and a near perfect communicator. These are the reasons he remains so calm in the face of such difficult times, with immensely complicated problems to solve.  They are the same reasons he is able to transcend labels such as; "African American, Black Man, liberal, socialist, anti-semite" or any other limiting label people seek to attach to him.  Additionally, he clearly understands that more Americans must bring their best game to the table, to join in and work on long term and far reaching solutions. We all need to raise our level of knowledge, to recognize the key issues, and to increase our understanding of the complicated inter-relationships within and between life altering issues. Recent history demonstrates that we have collectively lost our way, even in an era when Democracy and free markets reign and when more people in the world have advanced educations, then ever in the history of mankind. Obama recognizes the world is challenged in a unique way. That is his most important message to Americans. We have a responsibility to recognize when the tools, policies, tactics, and laws we depend on are either not enough, are flawed, or do not apply. We are obligated to do our best to improve the world by implimenting a better way, for everyones sake, not just our own.
