I am a member of a group, North Macomb 4 Obama, and we are having a Unite for Change Picnic and Platform Meeting to be held at Stoney Creek Metropark, located at 4300 Main Park Road, Shelby Township, MI 48316-4907 on Sunday, July 27, 2008.  The festivities begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Ridgewood picnic area.

We are a group of Michigan residents in Macomb County who have formed the group, North Macomb 4 Obama along with organizing fellows from the Obama campaign.  We have been very active in sponsoring many successful voter registration drives in the area. 

The purpose of our picnic will be to openly discuss Obama's platform and the issues. The goal is to get as many people to attend as possible and that includes not only democrats, but republicans, independents and undecideds as well as former Hillary Clinton supporters who are as yet undecided or leaning toward McCain.  

We will have a campaign video to show as well as Obama campaign reps at the meeting to facilitate discussion.  We hope to have a lively debate on the issues as well as some fun. 

This is an open invitation for my fellow Michigan Democrats.com members to come out and join us! We will have hot dogs, drinks, chips, sides, etc.  You are welcome to bring a dish to pass if you like.  We will have plenty of picnic tables, but feel free to bring lawn chairs.  This is a "rain or shine" event as we have several canopies.
