Democrats aiming for war in Iran
Now it's the Democrat's turn to start a war. Look at all of the congress-critters who have co-sponsored Senate resolution 580 and House resolution 362. Both of my senators are co-sponsors; one of them said he would "re-read" it after being confronted with the fact that an economic blockade is in fact an act of war. Clearly he signed on because AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) told him to (or else!). And both senators say they are "against" the Iraq war (even though they keep funding it). Congress supposedly went Democrat in 2006 because of opposition to the war, yet they also massively increased covert operations against Iran in preparation for war (http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/07/07/080707fa_fact_hersh). Please do everything you can to get this issue at the forefront of all issues, and lobby your representatives!
Our threats against Iran are a major cause of the spike in oil prices. An attack against Iran could easily trigger the closing of shipping lanes and a broader Middle East war. Shame on anyone who calls themselves an "anti-war Democrat" who would vote for this thing!

MailChain News Alert
House Resolution 362 perhaps would better be called Stealth Resolution 362. As of June 22, this resolution, which amounts to Congressional authorization for Bush to commit a grave act of war against Iran, had accumulated 160 co-sponsors, while getting NO MEDIA ATTENTION WHATSOEVER! It has since been reported on by the alternative press (e.g.www.antiwar.com/blog/2008/06/23/ iran-war-resolution-may-be-passed-next-week/), and Yahoo, Newsday and the Baltimore Chronicle have run opinion pieces about it. (See "Rep. Ron Paul Assails Congress's 'Virtual Iran War Resolution",
http://baltimorechronicle.com/2008/070208Paul.shtml) The CBS Website ran a commentary on June 23 from Politico, belittling concerns about it but there is no indication that they mentioned it on air.
Congressional Resolution 362 now has at least 220 co-sponsors, and is due to be voted on next week, reportedly under rules that will allow only 20 minutes of debate! Yet to date there has still been NO MENTION OF THIS RESOLUTION on ABC, NBC, MSNBC, FOX, CNN, PBS, NPR, BBC, AOL, msn, USA Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Christian Science Monitor or The Los Angeles Times! It is fairly safe to say that most Americans are unaware of it.

WAR!?
the last thing this country needs is another fruitless, unbased war.
