Warrentless Wiretapping Vote

I called Representative Dennis Moore's office at 10 am CST to request that he vote no on the warrentless wiretapping bill in Congress today.  The receptionist was courteous and asked if I would like a response from Representative Moore, and I accepted.

Warrantless Wiretapping Bill

I called Speaker Pelosi's office today and the young man who answered the phone was rude.  He wanted immediately to put me through to the "comments line."  When I stated that they had no problem calling me "live" when Speaker Pelosi wanted some cash, my call was put right through to the line.  I then called my rep - Eddie Bernice Johnson to complain about this treatement.  The woman who answered the phone was irritated that I would call about something that happened with Speaker Pelosi's office.  My impression from both calls was that somehow I was interrupting their day.  I've had it with Democrats who act like Republicans and only come to us, the rank and file when they need money.

Warrentless Wiretapping Bill

I just got off the phone from a wonderful assistant in Lloyd Dogget's office.

If she had been any sweeter, I swear I would have become a diabetic!

She assured me that Rep Doggett is committed to voting no on any further wiretapping.

Thank goodness some Dems are still sticking to the convictions that got them to become the majority once again...

warrentless wire tapping

I called Rep. Carter's office from Texas at 3:15 central time. His assistant said they still haven't voted on wiretapping yet. I told him I was against warrentless wiretapping. He said he'd tell Carter. I thanked him and said that I appreciated the fact that Carter is an independent thinker, which is rare among Republicans and that I hoped Carter would again prove he is an independent thinker by voting against spying on Americans. I could tell the assisstant was proud and a little taken aback by my praise....now we just have to wait and see!

House Vote on Warrantless Wiretapping

I called my Sen. C. McCaskill, Sen. K. Bond, & Rep R. Carnahan
on 06/20/08 about this issue and informed them of my demand for them to
vote on the issue as outlined on this site.

We lost the vote but I tried!
