Nancy Pelosi wanted $163 billion more to occupy Iraq for another year

Your e-mail "69 More to End the War" appears to contain some misspeak.  It was not just Bush II that demanded "$163 billion more to occupy Iraq for another year," it was Nancy Pelosi who, in her infinite wisdom, wanted $163 billion more to occupy Iraq well into 2009.  With Democrats like her, we don't need Republicans.

Oh, and by the way, she also wants to seat the Florida and Michigan delegations after those state Democratic parties violated the party's rules and may have to (gasp!) pay the price.

What people don't get

I'm not certain whether it's a failure to understand by choice or whether those who don't want Michigan and Florida to be counted simply are unable to grasp the fact that it was NOT the voters who choice to hold the primaries so early.  We HAD NO SAY IN THE MATTER.  Yet it's our votes that are being kicked by the roadside.  The states' parties' leaders were wrong in their decison.  But that means that I should now be disenfranchised?  It simply makes no sense.  Punish them in some other way than taking away my vote.  The party Could have come to a reasonable resolution and held substitute primaries, making the states' parties pay for them.  But it decided that having Obama win the nomination was more important that ensuring that ALL Americans have an opportunity to join the decision making process.

Does that mean I'll refuse to vote for Obama, much less vote for McCain?  Not a chance.   But I am going to have a much harder time digging into my pocket the next time a Democrat asks.  It will be leaving a very bad taste in a lot of people's mouths in both those states for a very long time.  And the Democratic party needs both those states pretty badly.  It was simply a stupid move at both ends.
