Stolen Election 2004: Thursday update

On Wednesday, Ohio's 88 counties finally finished counting the votes, including 156,977 provisional ballots. That's 1,640 more than the 155,337 total reported on Election Day. (Did Republicans need to manufacture 1,640 new votes to keep Bush in the lead? We'll be watching.) Officials validated 121,598 of those ballots, or 77%. For some mysterious reason, Ken Blackwell won't break out the provisional ballot totals separately - what is he hiding? But the diligent folks at Ohio Voter Suppression News did the math and found a net gain of 17,977 (including the Election Night computer error in Franklin County of 3,893 for Kerry). By my tally, Bush's lead is now down to 118,506.

Blackwell will spend the weekend alone with all the data, secretly deciding what to report on Monday. We need some Democratic lawyers to visit Blackwell's office immediately to make this phase completely transparent!

Kerry lawyers are watching like hawks, according to MSNBC - which seems to be the only media outlet (besides Democrats.com and Air America Radio) paying attention to Ohio.

A Kerry spokesperson tells First Read that Kerry's move to join the recount effort in Ohio "was the next step in ensuring that no county is excluded from the recount in Ohio, to ensure an accurate statewide count happens swiftly -- it was important to add the campaign's heft to that effort."

The "swiftly" part is the crux of the issue. According to Knight Ridder,

Any recount wouldn't start until Dec. 11.  That would leave only about 24 hours to find enough invalid votes to reverse Bush's victory in Ohio before the state's presidential electors vote for him on Dec. 13, which would seal his re-election.

That may be true in George Bush's imaginary world - but not in Reality-Based America!

The important legal precedent is the fascinating story of the 1960 Presidential race in Hawaii. On Nov. 17 2000, Richard Nixon was certified as the winner by 141 votes. But Democrats charged voting irregularities and demanded a recount. On Dec. 2, Circuit Court Judge Ronald B. Jamieson examined one precinct and found a discrepancy of 45 votes in Kennedy's favor. After finding more problems, Jamieson eventually ordered a statewide recount. While the recount was proceeding, Hawaii's Electors met on Dec. 16. The "official" Electors for Nixon cast 3 votes for Nixon, but 3 other Electors for Kennedy voted for JFK. On Dec. 27, Jamieson declared Kennedy the winner by a 115 vote margin. Hawaii's Democrats brought these results to Congress, and on Jan. 6, 1961, the presiding Vice President - Richard Nixon - appropriately ruled in favor of JFK's Electors!

The important popular precedent is unfolding right before our eyes - in Ukraine.

Ohio will have a statewide recount, thanks to the Glibs. If Kerry ends up with more votes, Kerry's Electors will be the only legitimate Electors.

And even if Kerry does not end up with more votes, attorney Cliff Arnebeck will force federal judges to examine powerful evidence of fraud - including the systematic disenfranchisement of black voters by deliberately allocating too few machines and creating impossibly long lines. If a judge rules fraud did occur, we will make sure Washington looks exactly like Kiev, with millions of us surrounding the Capitol in January demanding Kerry be sworn in.

Which is exactly what we tried to do in 2000, but there were too few of us - a handful of members of the Congressional Black Caucus (memorably depicted at the start of Fahrenheit 9-11), along with Democrats.com, VoterMarch.org, Citizens for Legitimate Government, and a handful of other small groups. But this time, we will not be alone!

Speaking of 2000, the woman whose idiotic butterfly ballot cost Al Gore 20,000 votes and the White House - Teresa LePore - was back in the news yesterday.

After Palm Beach voters finally threw her out of office by defeating her on Election Day, she was hoping to enjoy a lavish going-away party at taxpayer expense in Orlando. But Bev Harris & Co. had other ideas. After filing a lawsuit in Palm Beach, they paid a "surprise visit" to the Harris fete in Orlando, sneaking in through the hotel kitchen.

Harris went onto the podium and introduced herself to the crowd. "I know I'm interrupting. This will only take a minute." She turned to LePore, "Since we can't get your attention any other way, I'm serving you with a courtesy copy of the lawsuit we served on your office this morning."

LePore glared, turned her back on Harris, and refused to take the lawsuit, so Harris set it on the table in front of LePore.

Stephenson stood up in front of the crowd of perhaps 200 Florida elections officials.

"This was a courtesy call on Ms. LePore for failing to produce public records," he said. "For any of you who have not complied, we have more of these coming."

Black Box Voting has identified 13 Florida counties who have earned litigation due to failure to comply with public records requests.

The elections officials erupted into deafening shouts, boos, gavel-pounding, and then Wynne stepped up smack dab in front of the crowd, took a sturdy stance and panned the crowd with her video camera.

"This is what democracy looks like," she said, as the officials scowled and shouted for the sergeant at arms.

Unfortunately, the sergeant at arms was nowhere to be found. (Perhaps imbibing in the Sequoia Voting Systems lounge, just down the hall? We may never know.)

What a hoot! Just for entertainment value, Bev's tapes will be priceless. I assume that's why she won't share them with Keith Olbermann, who went after Bev in his blog:

The usefulness of that videotape to the immediate issue at hand - were there widespread failures of the electronic voting systems in this country on November 2nd, and if so, were those failures enabledby any malfeasance - has an expiration date. If they show irregularities, if they show public servants at their worst, even if they’re guerrilla-style political confrontations, they have a public value - an urgent one.

Have you seen them?

What Ms. Harris has left herself open to is a charge that as much as any interest she has in the justifiable public concern over our most precious right - the right to a reliable, honest election - she may also have an interest in making her own documentary, on her own schedule, for her own purposes.

C'mon Bev, you can at least let Olbermann broadcast a teaser and give us all some holiday cheer!

As for Bev's latest prey, Madame Butterfly will not fade quietly into the woodwork when she leaves her job as Supervisor of Elections. Instead, she will move from the henhouse to the fox's house - as an election-fraud investigator at the Palm Beach County State Attorney's office! This may be the most convincing proof yet that the 2004 election in Palm Beach was actually stolen, as the Berkeley study suggested.

LePore's pals, Florida's other 66 election supervisors hatched a scheme to steal future elections by abolishing neighborhood voting precincts and substituting an 11-day voting period at county-run voting centers.

Taking a cue from this year’s two-week early voting period, supervisors of elections meeting this week in Orlando are proposing to do away with a single Election Day in favor of an 11-day election period.

Under that plan, which must be approved by the state legislature, voters could cast ballots over a span of several days or weeks.

An estimated 2.3 million people cast ballots during the 15-day early voting period this year.

However, because of the overwhelming response, voters had to wait sometimes for hours in long lines to cast their ballots.
Instead of being assigned to a precinct, voters would be allowed to cast their ballots at “voting centers” throughout the county.

To prevent crowds, those voting centers would be staffed with more personnel and voting machines than were assigned during the early voting period.

State Sen. Ron Klein said he doesn’t feel Election Day should be done away with, but early voting should be refined and improved.

The major consequence of this change would be to make it harder for poor people with limited mobility to vote, since voting centers will be further from home. Of course, keeping poor people from voting would suit Republicans to a T. If Florida truly wants to make voting more convenient, why don't they simply adopt the Oregon system of 100% voting by mail?

This is really timely. Timely that trouble finally has come...

publically to Theresa LePore. Am also delighted that the Harris group managed to get all this on video tape. The rats can run...but now they can't hide. Oregon's vote by mail is working extremely well. That is probably why Florida and similar states want no part of it. And it was the Federal Post Office in Florida that managed to lose some 60,000 absentee ballots due out to those voter's who requested them. A follow up mailing failed to reach most of the people who were thereby unable to vote. Whatever works...or the old Jesuit saying: The ends justify the means. It is delightful that our legal teams and other investigators are finally starting to corral the election criminals from the stolen elections of 2000, 2002, and 2004.

Exciting Update and Urgent Actions

In this post
(1) Update
(2)New Kerry Action:Insider Legal Source said to increase legal standing to defend and expedite recount he must ask for HIS OWN recount
(3)New Blackwell Action:New Effort to Call/Write AGAIN to expedite recount, urge Ohio to ignore "safe harbor", and ask for recusal--its now or never!
(4)How you can volunteer for recount and share transportation and housing info
(5)The legal firm that is making this all happen is asking for your help.
(you can also find all these actions at http://stolenelection2004.com/alerts.html )

Update: While Kerry is publically defending the Green recount, inside legal sources tell me he may not have enough legal standing to defend and expedite the recount unless he directly asks for a recount himself instead of just helping the Greens in their recount.
Meanwhile Blackwell has dragged his feet and won't certify until the 6th even though the counties have reported its vote totals on the 1st. After the certification, there are two big obstacles to a real thorough manual count.

First on the 7th, Blackwell is scheduled to send in the results of the certification and choose electors who would choose Bush for president to represent Ohio. What this means is that there would be a slate of Bush electors from Ohio and if enough legal votes are found for Kerry, there would either have to be a Congressional challenge and Congress would have to vote on whether to replace the Kerry electors with the Bush electors or the Bush electors would have to switch to Kerry, which is possible but rarely happens. As a result, it would be best if Ohio did not recognize this "safe harbor" date which many states ignore and is not supposed to be recognized when an election is being challenged anyway (although that is a matter of interpretation).

Second, under Ohio law, the parties have 5 days to decide to join the recount, so the recount cannot start until then--unless all parties--including the Republicans--waive it! There is a legal hearing on Fri, the 3rd to try to stop these two things in order to facilitate the recount that but it might fail.

The inside legal source who has been giving me great info said clearly,"the only recourse is public pressure!" That's where you come in.

From the information I have gathered from inside legal sources, the key things to do are

(1) Call/Write Kerry Campaign and say,"Legal sources say in order to have enough legal standing to defend and expedite recount you must ask directly for a recount instead of just helping the Greens in their recount"

You can send Kerry a quick message here Note: While this page says something a little different the sample letter above is using information which is up to date and has been confirmed by legal insiders.

(2)
(a)Call and write Blackwell and say something like, "The recount should begin immediately in order to have enough time to have a full manual recount. Blackwell should waive the 5 day waiting period to notify candidates since all candidates already know about recount. Blackwell must not send in certification and choose electors on Tues since the recount would begin after that. Many states ignore this "safe harbor day" and it is not appropriate to recognize this deadline before the recount is finished. Also I urge him to recuse himself from the recount and appoint someone non-partisan instead."

re: Stolen Election....

When we return this country to democracy I propose we put Bev's face on our currency! Until then how about this site sponsering a proclamation to be signed by all it's members proclaming Bev a "Hero of Democracy".

"I love God, but his fan club is freekin meshuggeneh!."

Like dryer sheets on a poyester dress ...

"Why doesn't Florida simply adopt the Oregon system of 100% voting by mail?"

Wouldn't that leave a paper trail?

stolen election

I admit I am inspired by the people of Ukraine who mobilized to fight and die for their democracy. Will that be what is required of us here in this democracy?

I Don't trust him with those totals....

They shouldn't let him be in charge of everything...

A smoking gun in Warren County?

I submitted the following letter to the editor of the Cincinnati Enquirer on Tuesday night 11/30/04. I have yet to hear back from the Enquirer.

Were our Local officials duped by imposters?

On October first the Enquirer reported that Federal officials were puzzled by terrorism warnings. Hamilton county Sheriff Simon Leis and Cincinnati police chief Thomas H. Striecher Jr. had just issued a notice to area residents to be on the look out for possible signs of terrorist activity. The enquirer article stated that Sheriff Leis had new information about a possible terror attack in the Midwest before the November 2 election.
The only glitch to this alert is that FBI and Homeland security officials said there was no new information.
Fast forward to November fifth when the Enquirer reported on the lockdown in Warren county on election night. The report stated that Warren County Emergency Services Director Frank Young had recommended increased security based on information received from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in recent weeks. Then on November tenth a report in the Enquirer gave conflicting accounts between Young and FBI spokesman Michael Brooks. Brooks was quoted in the article "The FBI did not notify anyone in Warren County of any specific terrorist threat to Warren County before Election Day,”. While the Enquirer reported “Young said he recommended the security precautions after getting information from an FBI agent during a conversation about general Election Day threats. Young refused to identify the agent “
Clearly here are two cases where local officials acted on information provided to them by FBI or Homeland security officials and then afterwards are told that neither agency contacted them. It seems very strange to me. I don’t believe any locals officials lied to any of us but I do believe an imposter is amongst us and the FBI and Michael Brooks should be concerned.
An article by Wayne Madsen in Online Journal dated November 25 stated: the Bush campaign spent some $29 million to pay polling place operatives around the country to rig the election for Bush. The operatives were posing as Homeland Security and FBI agents but were actually technicians familiar with Diebold, Sequoia, ES&S, Triad, Unilect, and Danaher Controls voting machines. These technicians reportedly hacked the systems to skew the results in favor of Bush.
I don’t know what to believe. Madsen’s report seems so outlandish and mostly centers on banking transactions. But his ascertation that someone was posing as an FBI or Homeland security agent seems plausible in southwest Ohio. I believe Sheriff Leis, Chief Streicher and Frank Young are honest men acting for the safety and benefit for the public they serve. I also think they may have been duped. Citizens of Warren and Hamilton County deserve an explanation to these odd occurrences.

The smokin gun in this case would be the person or persons who met and spoke with Simon Leis and Frank Young. If there is a lead to follow these two officials could provide it.

Not being fair to Bev Harris

Whatever Olbermann said, please form no opinion of what Bev is doing with her tapes until you read this: http://www.blackboxvoting.org/
Getting information from BOTH SIDES of the story is always so important. . .

Wayne Madsen's Report: Saudis, Enron $ Used to Fix Election

Wayne Madsden is claiming Bush campaign used $29 million in funds funneled from accounts associated with Enron and the Saudi royals, and that Homeland Security and the FBI provided cover to polling place operatives who, while posing as Homeland Security and FBI guys, were really hackers who knew the Diebold, Sequoia, ES&S and other "black box" hardware nad hacked the systems to skew the election in Bush's favor.

Supposedly, the Bushistas reneged on promised payments to some of these hackers, which led to leaks. Maybe this means the FEMA death camps are fixing to open, and even the loyal Repug hackers will be slaughtered along with actual Democrats and other bad types.

Light humor aside, so far as appears the 2000 election was stolen, mainly due to chicanery in Jeb's Florida and Daddy's friends on the Supreme Court (may they all get terrible skin rashes). In 2002 the chicanery was even more widespread in the midterm elections (to say nothing of the likely murder of Paul Wellstone AFTER HE WAS THREATENED BY DICK CHENEY) and now the people supposedly "protecting" us (Homeland Security and FBI) are allowing hackers to use their agencies as "cover" to work the wholesale theft of the election!

Inquiring minds want to know: is Tom Ridge leaving Homeland Security because he knows the leaks will lead to disclosure that he's been heading up an election-stealing, democracy-destroying corrupt fascist scumbag operation?

More like "heavy" humor than

More like "heavy" humor than light.

As for the death of Paul Wellstone, I wouldn't put money on his having been murdered. It is not difficult to crash a plane in bad conditions, particularly if the pilot is unskilled, as the Kennedy family learned when JFK flew his plane straight into the sea.

I think the election stealing is not structured as an inner circle close to Bush that controls tentacles all over the place. That would be too easy to uncover. Tom Ridge is not at the center of operations. What you have here is small cells of people who know what to do, and they do it. So, for instance, if you prove cheating in some Florida county, you don't succeed in breaking up the cheating on other Florida counties, or Ohio, or Texas, or California, etc. The cheating is considered "isolated," or to be "glitches," even though every one of the "glitches" somehow favors Bushism. You don't get an easily followed trail that leads you to, say, Jeb Bush. I think if you could track the hacking of a machine to Jeb Bush, you would break the whole thing wide open, but it's going to be difficult to do that.
