Forget 2004. The 2006 Bi-Elections Begin Today!
Arizona: Kyl (R), Indiana: Lugar (R), Maine: Snowe (R), Mississippi: Lott (R), Missouri: Talent (R), Montana: Burns (R), Nevada: Ensign (R), Ohio: DeWine (R), Pennsylvania: Santorum (R), Rhode Island: Chafee (R), Tennessee: Frist (R), Texas: Hutchison (R), Utah: Hatch (R), Virginia: Allen (R), Wyoming: Thomas (R)
There it is, boys and girls. 15 names on the wall of shame -- we need to bury six of them and -- oh, by the way -- defend our seats.
Difficult: Yes! Impossible? Yep, if we keep wringing our hands and crying like a bunch of pansya**es! Listen, we had our butts handed to us -- tell me something I don't know. Terry McAuliffe: he never saw a close race he could close the deal on! We're too far from the main stream? I don't know -- I'd say at least 48% of America finds Evangelicals scary!
- Fire McAuliffe!
- Gore v. Frist 2006! Might be a preview of a race to come. It'll certainly garner publicity and force the Reps to spend a buncha money on a seat they thought was safe!
- Dems to Snowe & Chaffee: Join or Die! Your own party will happily sell you out, while we'd love to have you on board. The fact is, however, that we can no longer afford the luxury of Republican friends! Even moderates like yourselves... see your party for what it is and think about it.
- Tell Harry Reid thanks, but No -- JFK should be minority leader. He should be there to say I told you so every step of the way.
- Make DeWine pay for Ohio!
- Make Santorum pay for being an idiot!
- We need a Mexican-American in the Senate to counterbalance Mel Martinez. I say Texas is as good a place as any to start.
- Did I mention we'll have to raise about $1.5 billion dollars -- and that's just for the senate? The house, which is another topic for another day, will cost more?
- Gephardt v. Talent! Remember Mel Carnahan!
- Trent Lott -- need I say more? Time for an African American to represent Mississippi!
Stop whining. Instead, take the time you would have spent whining and invest it in your own state house/senate/assembly races. Which Republicans might be vulnerable? Who's old? Who's in an area that's changed a lot in the last few years?
Then start by creating buzz. Write to papers like you did for Media-Corps. Start talking up your state democrats, and start taking down your state Republicans.
Take time to remind people it's the right wing media now, and it's not just Fox News and Rush Limbaugh! Moody Broadcasting, uunder the guise of religon, broadcasts endless attacks and slanted news 24 /7 on many FM stations in every market in this country.
Remember that every righty has a weakness. Bill Bennett will be happy to lecture you about virtue as soon as he pushes himself away from the gaming tables. Rudy Giuliani would be happy to tell you about courage and morals and committing adultery in Gracie Mansion. Rush will lecture you on the error of your liberal ways as soon as he gets the maid to bring over the Oxycontin. O'Reilly will just settle..... you get the picture. Expose the hypocrisy in your right wing politician and shout it from the rooftops.
The future belongs to those who are passionate and work hard!

2006 starts today
I agree with all of these suggestions but the one I agree most with is No. 4. JFK MUST LEAD and cannot be allowed to defer to others in the party. We need to contact our Senators. We need his leadership in these dark days as hard as it may be for him to get back in the fight. He promised he would never stop fighting for us. He can be the constant reminder of what might have been and what will be in 2008. It is hard to imagine someone doing a worse job then W. He intends on using his mandate and spending his political capital and his incompetence will inevitably make things even worse. THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER!
