The Fill-In-The-Blank President

George W. Bush has worn so many hats.  He's been the Education President, the Wartime President, the CEO President, the Faith-Based President.

He's also been the FAILED president.

I want the next president to be the Constitutional President.  The only pledge I want from him or her is to uphold the Constitution.  (I don't want to hear pledges about taxes, flag-burning and gay-marriage amendments, etc.)  The only pledge that matters is the oath of office.

Is that too much to ask?????

Re: Constitutional President

I truly resonate with what you are saying.  I am tired of the same old lines that one candidate after another plays upon the public.  Hello people!  Can't you see that it is just a brush fire, put out there to distract you from alternative objectives? *(smile)*

I find it sad that my second grade child can be more articulate than my country's president.  My fifth grade son listens to Bush's speaches just so he can search for more "Bushisms" to laugh over.  At least when Clinton spoke, we typically could marvel over the way he could reach so many people simulaneously.  At least when he first came into office, announcing a plan to eliminate our country's massive debt, he saw his plan come to fruition by the end of his second term... without impeding upon the constitutional rights of the USA citizens, or turning us into a global mockery amongst our allies.

I miss feeling safe to speak my mind and speak it boldly.  I miss feeling like I was safe to laugh and discuss politics on the phone with my friends and not wonder if the U.S. version of the KGB would be busting through my door, accusing me of treason for what I was saying in jest! I recall, sadly, the words of my High School history teacher, "Why do we want you to learn history?  Why is it so important?  Because, boys and girls, any good student of history will come to find that it repeats its self.  If you want to understand where we are at in the present, you can find your answers by looking into the past."  -Mr. Gallernault

When you finally have the courage to speak the truth, do not utter it in whispers.  Instead, sing it boldly, with all the passion you hold in your heart. (C) Rebecc
