NYC now using green energy(big oil must be sad)
Mayor Bloomberg of New York City just announced that they are going to use these Microturbines for apartment buildings(and maybe hybrid buses). They can run on natural gas, waste gas, biogas, as well as liquid fuels. They require no oil or lubrication to run.
Why can’t every city use these?
This will help cut greenhouse gases and cut back on our dependency on foreign oil.

They even take the waste heat generated from the turbine process and turn it into thermal energy that can be used for heating or cooling

John, every city can use these. Any town that has a sewage treatment plant, or any sizable livestock facility can use this technology to generate power without drilling for another drop of oil in ANWAR or invading anyone.
I applaud NYC for taking this step.
One of the things I was hoping the media might choose to explore in Iowa apart from the caucuses is the incredible work they are doing with wind power (no, I'm not talking about campaigning pols!)

I also found this little unlikely gem the other day. It's an interview with former CIA boss James Woolsey. It's fascinating reading reminding us that every time synthetic or alternative looks like reality, the Saudis just drop the price of oil to the floor and we pretend all is right with the world.
