Weak Donation-Request Letter from the DCCC

Yesterday, I got what is perhaps the weakest donation-request letter I have ever received.  It was signed "Barbara Boxer."  And no, I'm not happy about it.  My detailed response expressing my strong concerns is posted at my blog site.

The main problems are that her letter barely touches on goals and completely fails to identify accomplishments justifying further investments in the DCCC.  The apparent reason is that the Democratic leadership has consistently failed to stand up to, and has even supported or abetted many horrendous trends:

     • Descent from world leadership.
     • Descent from economic superiority.
     • Continuing assault on unfettered communication.
     • Continuing assault on science and sanity.
     • Continuing flight from the rule of law.
     • Continuing drift away from Constitutional government.

Small wonder that her letter mentions a potentially successful right-wing assault on the Democrats!

DCCC and DSCC are trunk monkeys now

True progressives -- via Matt Stoller and Jane Hamsher -- already signed the Boycott the DCCC and DSCC petition.

All the mainline Democratic Central Committee types know how to do is (1) Lose Elections and (2) Bend over for anything Bush-Cheney-Rove-GOP NeoCons ask for. Every time.

The "Boycott all Central DNC Fundraising" initiative said: Enough! The Chuck Schumers and Hillary Clintons running the DSCC hate the Netroots and the Grassroots that put Democrats in the majority in November 2006. And they don't mind showing their contempt.

The DCCC is still living down all the stupid things Rahm Emmanuel did with millions of dollars in democratic contributions in 2006 -- to run loser Democrats who would take orders from Central DNC against true grassroots progressive Democrats who might act independently of the Central Committee types. And what did we get from the DCCC takeover of the House, anyway? Grandma Pelosi who unilaterally takes Impeachment off the table.

Matt Stoller and Jane Hamsher got it right -- Give away to individual progressive candidates through Act Blue. And don't have centrist slugs (cited above) using your hard-earned money to bend over and buy more lubricant.

Barbara Boxer is a good senator; but she must know how disgusted the REAL Democratic wing of the sluggish fake Democratic Party is now with the center-of-the-road losers who run the DSCC and DCCC. That's why the request for more money, honey, was so weak-kneed.
