Why Does God Always Back the Dumbest Candidate? Are Elections the Place for Charity?

From Buzzflash:

We received a memo from Liberty "Falwell" University on November 30th, signed by Jonathan Falwell, son of the recently deceased Jerry -- and now overseer of the vast Liberty University/Moral Majority corporate empire.

According to Jonathan Falwell, presidential aspirant Mike Huckabee believes that it is God, not himself, who is behind his rise in the polls: "Mr. Huckabee also said that Divine providence was responsible for his recent surge in the polls in Iowa, as he noted that he is the candidate with much less capital firepower than his rivals."

It would seem that god, whoever she is...

has notoriously poor judgement when it comes down to selecting HER representitives on this poor misguided planet.

It is either that, or an outrageously active sense of humor.

A mind once expanded can never return to its original dimensions.

The greatest derangement of the mind is to believe in something because one wishes it to be so.

Well, according to this Chavez supporter, jubilant over

the predicted victory for Hugo Chavez today,

" he was sent to us by God".

So, it works that way on both sides of the aisle.

I'm still awaiting the official results of today's vote on the referendum
in Venezuela.

can I have an Amen !

can I have an Amen !

It's because he is the only

It's because he is the only Republican candidate who is with the majoirty of Americans concerning issues like health care and others, and since mr. mafia and the others are gagging to death on their own words, and republicans stay republican or have been no matter how bad their choices are in contradistinction to the majority held views, they are now switching to Huckabee. Huckabee is just a Republican who rode to power after clinton left office in AR, and took his views and held some right-wing looking ones about God and religion. Since republicans are losing power, they are switchign to him-which proves that our democratic views are now running the party more than the previously held republican right wing ones.
