Potpourri from the past couple of days...feel free to add to this...
Over the past couple of days, DU has gone absolutely nuts. The boosters of this candidate and that candidate have been really duking things out--particularly in the 'general discussion--politics board.
To sort of kick this off, a couple of days ago, Elizabeth Kucinich made the statement that yes, absolutely, Dennis would consider Ron Paul as his VP running mate.
The great river of DeNial errupted on both sides of the fence. Early this morning(Mon)at 3am, ABC news broke the story and even got a soundbyte quote from Dennis(somewhere in the wilds of New Hampshire)that, yes, of course he would consider Ron Paul. In his eyes, this might be a way to bring the two political sides of our country together.
Between this brouhaha and the one a couple of weeks ago, Dennis managed to lose about half of his inconsequential support. The earlier slip was to make a public statement that he favors pulling all the guns from anyone not in law enforcement. About as far out as piloting a UFO.
Anyway, if you have some time, you might want to visit DU, the general discussion--politics board, and have some fun. Doesn't matter who your particular favorite is.

A great lady observes
Grinch, here's a new article by Helen Thomas:
http://www.thebostonchannel.com/helenthomas/14662401/detail.html
It makes all the U.S. election "brouhaha" suddenly seem smaller and just another pea in the political shell game. A lot of countries have gone crazy. America's form of craziness may be the most shallow and superficial of all . She knows our own leaders are nuts, and doesn't spend much time dithering over the potential new nuts that will be coming along to fill the empty shells. I hope she's still around when that happens.
Steve, we really need to be glad that Helen is still out there..
still watching and reporting(in the old-fashioned sense)what she sees. Unfortunately, only a very few Americans are aware of what is going on.
Since the US is busy chasing it's own tail, the world has seen a massive rise in little tinhorn dictators. They can all do this now with impunity. Diplomacy is dead. The confusion here at home allows the rest of the world's countries to go their own way.

A DU poster has put the Rasmussen Poll...
in a graphic form that makes it much easier to visualize what is actually happening.

David is trying to keep this graph up to date. There are some interesting results.
Sometime in Oct, between the 1st and the 8th, Obama started to decline. Isn't that about the time he got involved in 'that old time religion?'
The graph shows Hillary, John, Barak, and 'others.'
It is worth your time to see this graph.

The big battle, the anti-Clinton movement of the past couple ...
of days is apparently over. Most of the people involved were not DU regulars, but were newcomers who entered the site to disrupt and flamebait. Sad to say, they were joined in their vitriol by many of the most rabid Kucinich backers.
In any case, the bash Hillary campaign is now officially launched. All the tired bits and pieces of Gingrich's GOPAK playbook are again in play. Hillary fortunately, has many years of experience with these attacks and will give back what 'they' throw at her.
A new thread has appeared over there, this time in breaking news: Hillary Haters Out In Force as 2008 Votes Loom by hissyspit.
Her remarks come from an article from Agence France-Presse.
"One group "Stop Hillary Now" is trying to recruit hundreds of millions of anti-Clinton activists(links). At least some members of Code Pink may be involved.

Those who monitor 'Hate Radio' might look for signs that neo-con hate phrases are increasing against ALL our candidates.

The Repugnants are stung by CNN's treatment of their...
candidates in the most recent Repug debate. Cries about a boycott are flowing across the neo-con net sites.
They are objecting loudly to the questions that the liberal CNN asked their people. It is unfair they say. Cry, moan, tearing their collective hair, they have reverted to repeating the knowledgeable statements of Rush about the sorry tactics used by CNN.

This is one of the better sites...a bit more upscale in the brain/language department...but the message is very clear.
Almost 20 years now, the Repugnant machine has had it's way with the media. Suddenly they feel stabbed in the back by their candidates actually having to think on their feet(of clay of course). Time for payback methinks.
Not one complaint about the treatment of Dems by the likes of Novak et al...or the slurrious remarks on a daily basis by Rush/Savage/Coulter and the rest.
Oh yeah, Dennis has apparently flip-flopped on the Paul VP idea according to several threads at DU. Actually, that played pretty well in NH where Paul has a considerable following. Perhaps it was just Dennis's way of politicking in NH. There certainly was a lot of applause when he made the announcement about Paul at a houseparty attended by about 70 people in a small town in NH.
The anti-Clinton folks are back on other sites...but they are somewhat subdued after being mauled badly by folks that objected rather strenuously. LOL.

This is a good thread to put all the strange...
bits and pieces you pick up here and there.
Last night on Ray Taliaferro's radio show on KGO San Francisco, a number of real estate brokers and bankers called in to the show.
Some of the bankers mentioned that production of the NEW Amerodollar is underway at the US Mint in Denver. This means there are plans to ram this total devaluation of the dollar(greenbacks)down our collective throats.
Any info you can find on this would be appreciated.

FLASH FLASH FLASH...Hostage Situation at HRC
campaign office in HH. A mentally-ill middle-aged man entered the office with something strapped to his chest and demanded to speak to Hillary who is in Virginia at a DNC meeting.
She has cancelled her speech and will be consulting with law enforcement who have surrounded the office. Two hostages have been released
News media choppers have been asked to not hover over or near the office to protect the police...all complied except Faux News.
