Jerry Weller a Republican representative that serves my local district was recently listed as among the top 22 most corrupt Congressmen in Washington DC by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), citing among other things unreported land deals in Guatemala. Weller is also among 10 Republican legislators fighting a subponea to testify in a case related to a Repblican jailed former legislator.

A few days after these revelations were published Weller announced he would not run for re-election. He cited his plans to be be a full-time husband to his wife Zory Monts Rios, a Guatemalan legislator, and the daughter of the nortorious dictaor and mass murderer General Monts of Guatemala.
