Kucinich to Submit Your Impeachment Petitions to Congress
During our meeting, Congressman Kucinich agreed to place all signers of the DIY Impeachment Memorials specifically referencing Cheney into the Congressional record. Rep. Kucinich also agreed to enter into the record the names of signers of regular petitions to impeach Cheney. Because there is a limit to the number of pages that a representative can submit to the Congressional Record each day, Rep. Kucinich stated he will continue to submit petitions every day until all the names are submitted. The most powerful statement for impeachment is the submission of a Memorial, however, so if you have not yet sent a Memorial for the impeachment of Vice President Cheney to ImpeachForPeace.org, please do so! Go to http://impeachforpeace.org/ImpeachNow.html and download the Memorial. Then send it to the address listed on the cover letter. "Jefferson's Manual" is an interpretive guide to parliamentary procedure, and is included (along with the Constitution) in the bound volumes of the Rules of the House of Representatives. It is ratified by each congress (including the current one), and has been updated continuously through the history of our democracy. The section covering impeachment lists the acceptable vehicles for bringing impeachment motions to the floor of the House. Before the House Judiciary Committee can put together the Articles of Impeachment, someone must initiate the impeachment procedure. Most often, this occurs when members of the House pass a resolution. Another method outlined in the manual, however, is for individual citizens to submit a memorial for impeachment. Since then, Kucinich held a press conference informing the public of his plan. Enter your name into the Congressional Record For more on the DIY Impeachment process, see this YouTube video

Impeachment, and indictments for war crimes
To Whom it May Concern: I live in California where Congressman Calvert is my representative. I have been very disappointed in his performance as of late. It gives me cause to question his devotion to upholding his oath to protect the Constitution and the laws of the land. I'm not sure why Congressman Calvert doesn't know torture is illegal and the President doesn't have the right to authorize torture for any reason. Congressman Calvert seems to be absent to vote on the important issues concerning the unlawful activities of the Bush administration. Just not being there to vote does not excuse him from not knowing about them. House of Representatives / Ethics Manual for Members, Article 9, & 10 defines Mr. Calvert's responsibilities. Any Congressmen or Senators who have turned a blind eye to the crimes, and not pushed for impeachment, and filed charges against the accomplices should be charged with aiding & abetting war crimes. Jan. 23, 2005 Article by W.L. Floyd Statement reads: Water-boarding is tying a victim to a board & submerging his/her head under water. The torture continues until the victim believes he/she is drowning. Statement from the Red Cross. At Abu Ghraib prison, Guantanamo, & Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan about 50 have died from torture such as water-boarding. President Bush claims publicly he abhors torture. However Sen. Barbara Boxer revealed a letter from Secretary of State Nominee Condoleeza Rice in Dec. 2004 requesting the deletion of a Congressional bill outlawing torture of all captured combatants. When Abu Ghraib became public knowledge Mr. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Albert Gonzales, & Condoleeza Rice claimed it was the work of just a few "bad apples", but it was the policy of the Bush administration. It was a lame excuse in 1945 at the Nuremberg trials and it's still just as lame today and still remains just as immoral. The punishment should still be the same. Office of the Press Secretary Published July 20, 2007 President Bush Executive Order
By the authority vested in me as President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces by the Constitution and Laws of the United States of America, including the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107 40), the Military Commissions Act of 2006 (Public Law 109 366), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code, it is hereby ordered as follows: Section 1. General Determinations (a) The United States is engaged in an armed conflict with al Qaeda, the Taleban, and Associated Forces. Members of al Qaeda were responsible for the attacks on the United States of Sept. 11, 2001, and for many other terrorist attacks , including against the United States, its personal, and its allies throughout the world. These forces continue to fight the United States and its allies in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere, and they continue to plan additional acts of terror throughout the world. On Feb. 07, 2002, I determined for the United States that members of al Qaeda, the Taliban, and Associated Forces are unlawful enemy combatants who are not entitled to the protections that the third Geneva Conventions provides to prisoners of war. I hereby reaffirm that determination. George W. Bush The White House July 20, 2007 Congress passed a statute outlawing inhumane treatment of prisoners. When President Bush signed the statute in to law, he issued a separate signing statement saying that he reserved the right to use torture if he thought it was necessary for National Security. Is that "okay as long as I get to do as I please"? Abu Ghraib was no aberration, but part of a widespread pattern. It showed the tragic impact of the initial decision by Mr. Bush & his top advisers that they were not going to follow the Geneva Convention, or indeed American laws for prisoners. It was attributed to instructions from President Bush to "take off the gloves" in prisoner interrogation, according to an article published in Crime, Media, and Culture: An International Journal. In a Radio Interview Oct. 2006 Vice President Cheney Confirmed in the interview the United States interrogators subjected captured prisoners to the controversial interrogation technique of water-boarding We have Omission and commission of war crimes, cover ups, and treason. What do does the Bush administration have to do to get the Congress to take action against them? Philo Miller philo@philosart.net
