Impeachment Committee
If your congressional representative is George Miller, first, congratulations! Our guy voted AGAINST the Iraq funding bill.
Second, I'm starting an impeachment committee for CA-07. Let's back Representative Miller by taking out Cheney and his human shield, Bush.
Impeachment is justified, and necessary, on the basis of at least three constitutional violations: first, violation of the 4th Amendment protection against illegal search and seizure; second, illegal suspension of the writ of habeas corpus; third, illegal prosecution of a war never formally declared by Congress, and for over the two year limit prescribed in the Constitution.
I'd like to get a petition going. I'm going to wait for at least 20 expressions of interest. Please let me know by posting in this discussion thread whether you're interested, too.
I'd hold a signing event at a central place, depending on who's showing up, on a weekend sometime soon. More to come if enough of us are interested.
In the meantime, show Congressman Miller some love:

Join CA-07 Impeachment Committee
Hi, I just discovered your 5/26/07 message setting up an Impeachment Committee for Miller's district CA07. Maybe you have not gotten much response because CA07 is not showing up in the list of districts with existing committees - see this link:

Anyhow, I'd be happy to collect impeachment petitions on Thursday afternoons in Benicia -- we have a Peace Vigil on First St. from 4-6 PM every Thursday. Contact me if you'd like to coordinate on this. The time is urgent. Don't wait for 20 people to sign up for this committee. Just do it. As you collect petitions, you may find a few more people who want to join the committee (by helping to collect petitions on their own). We can also email this link to the the petition (http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/downloads/petition-4.pdf ) to everyone in our email lists and ask them to download it, sign it, and mail it back to us. When we get a bundle, we can go to Miller's district office and deliver them.
