Karl Rove and the gang are at it again, this time it is to destroy the Democratic Governor of Kansas. Her mortal sin was to tell the truth about the Kansas National Guard equipment.
Tony Snow, living up to his name, started the snowball rolling by stating "Governor Sebelius never requested anything from the Federal Government." Today that ball was picked up by none other than Sean Hannity. He interviewed two idiots from Pittsburgh, PA, who have a morning show on 104.7 FM (a Clearchannel station) and XM Radio named Quinn and Rose, and accused Howard Dean of orchestrating the Governor's statement for political gain.
The story goes like this:
Quinn and Rose say they have a "Confidential Source" who somehow managed to hear a conversation between the Senator and the Governor. It seems the Senator was displeased with Governor Sebelius's statements concerning the National Guard. In response she repents and claims that Howard Dean got her to do it. Presumably Howard Dean planned with Speaker Pelosi, Senator Reid, Senator Durbin and Senator Leahy to use the tragedy in Kansas to launch a political attack against Bush concerning the National Guard issue.

After listening to these morons I called the radio station in Pittsburgh and left a message for Quinn and Rose's producer Jay Bahanon who returned my call and said:
We do have a confidential source on our report about the conversation between the governor of Kansas and Senator Brownback. I'm not going to give you any names if that's what you want, that's not going to happen. But we do have a good credible source on it.

It is truly pathetic how desperate the Republicans have gotten. Don't let them get away with these grotesque attacks on Democratic politicians. This will probably not play big in NYC but out in Kansas Governor Sebelius is going to have to deal with the Rove machine.

Update 2: On Thursday, the DNC's lawyer, Joseph Sandler, sent cease and desist letters to XM Radio and FreeRepublic.com adamantly denying Gov. Dean had any such conversation with Gov. Sebelius. The letter to XM Vice President Dara Altman demands they:
- immediately cease and desist, and instruct Messrs. Quinn and Rose to cease and desist, from further dissemination of the above-quoted statements or any statements similar in substance and
- immediately - on tomorrow morning's show or the next morning's show, at the latest - broadcast on the Quinn & Rose show an express retraction of these statements.
The letter to FreeRepublic's James Robinson demands they:
- immediately cease and desist from further dissemination of the above-quoted statements or any statements similar in substance and
- immediately post a retraction of these statements in a location on its web page a[t] least as prominent as that on which the story appeared.
Update 3: Several rightwing blogs jumped on the story. HotAir published flat denials from Dean, Sebelius, and Brownback. GatewayPundit published a denial from Brownback. Wizbang has not published the denials.

Email I sent to Rose and Quinn, Rove's Robots
This administration is going down the toilet but the hangers on like Rose and Quinn are still in there fighting for Karl Rove.
The American People are sick and tired of Rove and his spin when it comes to saving American's lives. I know this must sound odd to you, but we do have Americans who need help and in a catastophic disaster relating to Kansas, we need National Guard, and many other enforcement to keep the people safe.
I hope when Karl Rove is handcuffed and marched out of the White, that you two idiots are with him. You will learn one day that this moron, Karl Rove, who parrots himself after Lee Atwater has used you to do his dirty work.
Hey guys, the truth is the truth and I can assure you that this governor was only speaking the truth. But "boo hoo" Rove didn't like it because it only proved our point that we our national guard is strained here at home, equipment that we need for this disaster in Kansas is in Iraq, we are unable to protect our own country. Because of the war that started on a fool's errand we are weak on the domestic front. But you guys go ahead and quote you "confidential source" , who is it Jeff Gannon, etc.
You boys just keep on wiping Rove's behind. The blood of every American soldier is on your hands as well.
Rose and Quinn, you make me sick. What losers you are. We have retired Generals who are bravely on television admitting the truth about what this administration has done. They don't listen to the soldiers on the ground, they don't listen to the generals.
So what is left is two low life's like yourselves to go and do the dirty work for Rove to discredit a person for telling the truth. This will be reported on tonight. I can assure you that. Remember one thing, if it comes down to quinn and rose, Rove will sacrifice you to save his own pasty, nasty skin. He will not go down for either one of you. In thinking, I guess Rose and Quinn went down for him. You are sick, sick, people. For God's sake, think what you have done. Stuptid, stupid.
The only good part is the people of Kansas know the truth, they have no homes, no shelter and no safety due to Rove and Company and their little fabricated war. The American people are wide awake my little buddies. They are on to this administrations pack of lies. This administration continues to lie to the people about the fact that this war has made us weak and unable to address any emergency that may come up. And as usual when the truth surfaces and it doesn't please Mr. Bush and Karl Rove, they call in the foot soldiers like Rose and Quinn to go on the air and lie to the people. It has been clairifed in no uncertain terms that the statements that were made by Quinn and Rose were lies. The facts are clear. Thanks to the personal war of George W. Bush our states are in a very weak position to handle natural disasters on our home turf. This administration placed non combat ready forces to fight a war that he personally started for his own agenda. Now, the GOP and this administration has made the United States vulnerable to disasters that happen on American soil. The National Guard should have been ready to respond to the needs of the American people in Kansas, but we did not have enough guard to do the job. We have no equipment because it is in Iraq. Kathy, your passion is admirable but your crusade against Quinn is pointless. First of all, he is not a credible "reporter" by any stretch of the imagination, but rather he is a crass rabble-rousing "entertainer" who is in it for the bucks just like Limbaugh. He is nothing more than a shock-jock with a following of gun-toting, pick-em-up truck driving rednecks who wrap their hatred of other Americans in the flag and religion.
Quinn labels himself as a Libertarian, which should be enough to give anyone who can think for themselves a big clue as to his authenticity. No one can "win" an argument with the likes of Quinn, Limbaugh, Hannity, et al. It's kind of liike wrestling with a pig in the mud -- pretty soon the pig starts to like it.
I know that radical idiots like Quinn are infuriating, but save yourself some stress, and stop spending your energies on someone who is too far gone (and too anti-American) to appreciate what you're saying. Your voice is too important to waste on closed minds and deaf ears.
