Great news. Rep.Alice Borodkin emailed the good news on Sunday.

"We passed SMJ07-002 the Senate version. Actually, I was glad we did.
It had much stronger wording in it. If we did not pass that,
the entire resolution would have been lost."

The effort to influence the Senate to adhere to their version and the House Democrats to adopt the Senate version was enthusiastically supported by our 1StProtestInTheStreet group at http://ProgressNowAction.Org , the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center of Boulder, CO ( led by Carolyn Bininski) and members of many other peace and justice and anti-war groups across Colorado, including World Can't Wait's Colorado Chapter.

It would be a good idea if we all emailed our thanks to all of the Democrats in the Legislature. We will need their help in the future.

The Senate spent an entire day taking public input on the measure and the House held it's own considerable debate with a different version being proposed by Rep. Rice. The move to accept the Senate version was a major change in direction by the House Democrats and should be remembered and appreciated.

All of the Democrats should be thanked for the effort they put into this measure.
