Congressional Debate on Why Impeachment is Necessary and Healthy for Good Government!
[slightly redacted for effect] ----------------------- How appropriate and fitting! How courageous for a Congressman to finally stand up for "the rule of law" and hold the President accountable! What brave soul stated this? Look below ------> Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-CA) 24th district, December 10, 1998, during Clinton's impeachment hearings! Contact information: Hon. Not the same
The issues involved with Presdient Bush are very different from those involved with Clinton.
Clinton was involved in questionable sexual practices, and he lied about it. Many of us felt that his sex life was not a question of national security, but a private matter. Still, others were upset about the lie.
Bush lied to get the U.S. into a war. He has brazenly broken the law against spying on American citizens without getting a warrant.
Let's not dig up old matters, but move on to the ones that count today. I doubt your emails will even get through to the Congressman listed above unless you live in his district.
Contact your own Representative and Speaker Pelosi and John Conyers, chair of the judiciary committee. That might actually bring some action.
Lets sorta leave Clinton out of this mess...
Like most Dems, at least he likes girls and women unlike most of his opponents. Thats a real plus in today's world. Clinton is a guy with Rabelasian, Bottichellian, and Ruebenesque tastes. And, he married a woman he admitted was smarter than he was.
Ever consider Daddy Bush and his Fitzgerald?
Or Dumbya and the Stepford gal he married?
Oh yeah...about suing and taking to a civil court a sitting president--Richard Mellon Scaife managed that with the Jones character. The Repugnants set the stage for attacking a president in civil court.

I'm guessing by 'girls'
you mean 'women,' since the republicans appear to like them better if they're boys; before they're potty trained; and when they're under their authority. When they get older, they seem to lose interest.
As far as writing republicans goes, DEMOCRATS control things now. Republicans will accept nothing that is not written in stone as just cause for impeachment. (See: Lied under oath) That's why it's necessary to start the investigations to get the little cowards under oath so their lies are a part of legal testimony, instead of just some cooked up lie they told the American people because they wanted to invade another country and kill people because Georgie needed a legacy and his pals saw dollar signs.

Signing Statement to Circumvent Legislation
>It is about violating Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution, which states the president shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed. [The President's] actions clearly fall under the heading of high crimes and misdemeanors.
Sounds like this applies to "signing statements" that Bush uses to circumvent congressional legislation.
You're absolutely correct, mikenolan. Since the Dems are starting on Thursday, January 4th, there's no time to waste in writing Speaker Pelosi and the Honorable John Conyers.
It is the same, you missed...
the obvious hypocrisy and the sad, satire one can draw from this.
These words could easily be spoken by ANY congressman or senator today about Bush...All I did was removed Clinton's name from the speech.
"If being liberal means critical thinking and informed dissent, instead of blind obedience and ignorant nationalism, then I am all for it!"
Things are already starting to happen...
instead of the traditional congressional holiday until the State Of The Union speech, Speaker Pelosi is calling the 110th Congress into session on January 4th. As she puts it: "We have a lot to do."
Gnash yer teeth Repugs...gonna be a long long year for youse guys. Maybe even an unpleasant year.
Despite your best efforts to rig yet another election, you lost. Bigtime. The game is over. Now pack your bags...at least those of you who were so bad that you had to be sent to coventry(home)and clean out your prime office space--the Dems are moving in.

I'm sure you didn't mean it this way, but from where I stand there is nothing wrong with a same sex sexual relationship, provided they are both consenting adults. I guess that's the defining factor. It just seemed like a shot at the homosexual community is all.
If you whined and sniveled
about same sex marriage to rev up your radical base for years, but got caught up in homosexual pedophilia even while you sat on an advisory committee on child exploitation and your pals in the GOP covered it up for you - where would YOU hit him? It's about the hypocrisy, dude.

I understand. That's just
I understand. That's just how it reads.
Moda, you are referring to my reply to MikeNolan's post...
go back down and read that one first...then my reply.
I personally don't much care what anyone's preferences are provided that they are open and honest about the relationship.
None of the Repugs appear to be anywhere near open and honest about much of anything.

I figured that grinch. I
I figured that grinch. I thought about not posting anything at all. It just struck me wierd upon reading it and it sounded like "At least he's not gay" Which I was sure that it wasn't what you had meant. I was going to edit out the post to remove my comments, but LootieMay had already replied and if I would have done that LootieMay's reply wouldn't have made much sense.
At any rate I know what you meant it just read strangely. Sorry to have cause this topic to derail a bit.
LOL Moda...I was just trying to make the point...
that the inserted comment about clinton was out of place. He hasn't been president for over 6 years now. Some people just can't help themselves.
See, if Clinton did all this stuff, it makes the Repugnants smell less obscene. So it is repeated over and over again. People forget that Monica was head-hunting, having already done lots of that with the teaching staff at Beverly Hills High School...before she got to DC.
Old history need not be repeated.

I think grinch meant Dems
I think grinch meant Dems genuinely LIKE woman. He was not making a reference to sexual orientation (except to note that Dems like woman AS THEY ARE).
Then there is lootie's post below so...

I promise to get sleep so that I may understand the world again ;)
impeachment of cheney and bush
how can we expect others to embrace democracy
when all see that we are allowing our officials do as they please. the impeachment process will show how we the people have a say in the works of our government with out being be-headed or hung, that we are the government not elected officials. we the people for the people.
Americans, put on your gear
look man, somebody stole my chat. The bottom line is: People, the corporations and industrial war profiteers are at war with the people and we as the people who put them there have a responsiblity to protect our children who are being used to fuel the oil and military coffers of the Bush Cheney administration
One more time people
Impeach on the grounds that this war in Iraq is all wrong and it and it's tactics are totally the fabrication of democracy in iraq when it's really another set of elites helping another set of elites in a foreign land oppress the other citizens and keep the oil profits for their own people. IMPEACH THE CROOKS NOW! Oh Lord , George little Bush has been going aroung the country again saying the democrats aren't supporting the troops. Our troops were lied to, The congress was lied to and the people who hired the clowns to go after the terrorist, went to kill Sadaam instead. What a bunch of macaca!

All their RW policies never go away
they just cycle round and round in a big horrific bubble of lies and attacks on our democracy and way of life. Gone for their self interested wealth and power.
Little they care about winning any war. It's the profit and genocide that thrills them. Gives them the feeling of power. Who are they kidding or are they just sadistic, drunken Orwellians?
Yes.
They certainly aren't fit to rule. The elite are always unfit to rule since they are arrogant and self serving. The ends justifies the means type rulers.
Leo Strauss was wrong about the few elite being the leaders because the rest of society are stupid...unfit. It was the few elite who sent his chosen people to the gas chambers.
