Gas Too High? Impeach-Bush-Cheney.com

Have you visited a gas station this week? The average price on 4/11 was $2.28, which is up 6.3 cents from the week earlier.

In some places, gas is already over $3. (This photo is from California.)

The Bush administration predicts average prices will climb another 7 cents to $2.35 in May.

But that assumes none of the following occur:

* greater sabotage of Iraqi oil facilities

* a terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia or another oil-producing country

* another effort by the Bush administration to overthrow Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez

* an invasion of Iran, which Scott Ritter says could happen as early as June

* a serious accident or hurricane at a U.S. gasoline refinery

Even at $2.28, gasoline prices are killing consumers - and the economy.

Gasoline Price Hikes Take Toll on U.S. Consumers
April 15, 2005 1:30:00 PM ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. consumers felt less secure about the economy's strength in April as gasoline prices soared, reinforcing nascent concerns that growth may be on the brink of a slowdown.

So what is George Bush doing to reduce gasoline prices and keep the economy from crashing?

Absolutely nothing. In fact, he's making things worse by insisting on an energy bill that would raise gas prices by 3-8 cents, by refusing to raise auto fuel economy standards, and by creating turmoil in the Middle East.

And what do Americans think of Bush's do-nothing attitude?

According to the polls, Americans are very unhappy.

Energy Up, Bush's Approval Rating Down

George W. Bush's team is already receiving lower approval ratings for its handling of the economy. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll published on April 7 showed a fall in support for Bush on this issue from 46% two months ago to 41% today. A USA Today/CNN/Gallup survey also released last week also showed a decline from 48% five weeks ago to 41% today. Higher oil and gasoline prices are likely to reinforce this sentiment.

In fact, Bush's approval ratings are the lowest for a 5th-year President in the history of polling.

Are Americans frustrated enough to want Bush impeached?

I think we should find find out!!!

I just started a new impeachment campaign at Impeach-Bush-Cheney.com

Scroll down to the bottom and you'll find a flyer and a petition.

I printed 100 flyers on my printer and 3 petitions. I put the petitions on a clipboard and attached a pen. I took my stuff to the nearest gas station.

While drivers were pumping gas, I held up the flyer and loudly said:

Hi! I'm taking a survey. Do you think gasoline prices are too high?

If they said yes, I held up the clipboard and asked them if they wanted to sign my impeachment petition.

Two-thirds of the drivers signed my impeachment petition!!!

Now I need your help. I want to know if drivers all across America feel the same way.

If you want to help, print out some flyers and petitions and take them to the nearest gas station. Approach the drivers while they're pumping gas and see how many signatures you can collect.

(It was sometimes easier to approach the passenger if the driver was preoccupied with the gas pump.)

Then share your results with everyone below.

Let's start a movement!!!

Food for Gas...

In the next month or two --the 'high gas prices'..will start affecting the 'WalMart shoppers'...the major department stores at the mall - the banks will start to see 'more withdrawals than deposits', some people will start selling stocks..since the 'economy will start to slow-down by July 2005 (long hot summer) --and energy prices -will start to take front page news.

We've been here before (many times Nixon, Reagan) --and we've survived everytime; the best part of this debacle -is Bush and company will have to 'come up with a real good story' for this one.
Since this has nothing to do with OPEC and/or MiddleEast.

Irony; Saudi Arabia , Iraq, et al won't sit well with the 'all the 'freedom and liberation' campaigns.

What goes up must come down!

If you think people are pisse

If you think people are pissed now about paying $3 for a gallon of gas, wait until they have to pay it while unemployed. These gas prices are eventually going to come home to roost in the form of higher unemployment.

As planned

folks thumbed their noses at the notion that this administration was determined to wreck our economy and bankrupt the government. Some won't "get it" until they are living in a cardboard box and working for $2 an hour.

I have long since come to believe that people never mean half of what they say, and that it is best to disregard their talk and judge only their actions.  Dorothy Day
