Update 1: After Bill Clinton spoke, it took Chuck Todd exactly 1 minute to attack Obama using a bulls**t Republican talking point that Obama is "borrowing" Biden's experience.

Rove's A Criminal
For the life of me, I can't understand why Karl Rove is allowed to be commenting at all. He and other Bush croonies have refused to appear before congressional investigation committees. I believe that contempt of court supeonas are being innitiated. Bush, Cheney, Rove, Gonzalez, etc. should have all been impeached long ago. I will never forgive Nancy Pelosi for having taken impeachment of King George, "off the table."
Travesty: NBC and MSNBC not showing Convention. Watch C-Span
They are more interested in their hot air than televising the event. Sadly, their own anchors have no idea what is happening at the convention because their network isn't showing it!! Do not watch NBC or MSNBC.
Please pass this on to make sure everyone who actually wants to watch the Convention can. C-Span to see full coverage of the convention. C-Span showed the Roll call yesterday which was historic. It took place at about 6:00 ET. They show EVERYTHING. PBS also has decent coverage of prime time, but C-Span shows everything all day.
If you missed anything -- like Kucinich on Monday, or Kerry yesteray, or the Veterans who gave hard-hitting blasts to McCain -- Online, you can watch everything live on this page, or you can watch each day if you missed anything. Just click on "Video Library" on the right.

You can fast forward through the stuff you don't want to watch.
CNN and FOX are awful, but CNN has at least shown a couple more speeches than NBC. Both NBC and MSNBC in particular have been a travesty for America this week. Their coverage of the DNC convention has been minimal, and their own anchors and commentators have no frickin idea what is going on. They are therefore asking all the wrong questions of their guests, and passing on inaccurate information based purely on the fact that NBC has not televised the event. They spend hours spinning two speeches and aren't televising the actual EVENT. News in the making is less interesting to them than their own hot air.
So, the anchors themselves are in the dark. For the past three days, the NBC talking heads have been commenting that "no one" at the convention is attacking McCain enough. They are acting shocked and dismayed for the Dems. They can't believe the Dems are missing such a great opportunity!!!! I kept screaming at the tv that this is because their networks aren't televising more than 2 speeches per night! The opportunity lost is NBC's....and therefore any viewer who is watching their coverage (or CNN's) thinking they are getting the full show. Since their own anchors aren't seeing the speeches they have no idea how hard-hitting some of the speeches have been, and they are passing on bad information to their viewers as a result. If they'd only frickin watch the convention they'd have SO MANY interesting things to talk about. It would help their stupid asses to have more than 2 talking points. They would have some meat to discuss.
It is day four and they are still discussing the same 4 speeches. Sure, there have been some clunkers, but there have been some terrific speeches as well. Can you believe they didn't televise Kerry's speech? Of course not. These a-hole anchors had to talk about Bill during Kerry's speech. NBC couldn't be bothered televising the entire event. Some "news" station. They are basically missing some of the best moments.
I feel sorry for those, who like me the other day, didn't know that C-Span was showing the entire convention.
Had I not watched Jon Stewart, I wouldn't have realized that the NBC talking heads are so exhausted from spending too many hours spinning and not enough hours watching, that they have gone at each other's throats. They are blowing up at each other on the air. Chris Matthews was screaming at Olbermann the other night, and Joe Scarborough had a melt down the other day that went on and on, similar to one O'Reilly would launch.
Again this morning Joe et al were harping that they don't see a "theme" (there is one each day, but they haven't heard more than 6 speeches so they can't figure out what it is!), and they were bitching at how tame the speeches have been. It was Pat Buchanan who told Joe S. that Kerry's and even Schweitzer's speeches were attacking (and those weren't even the hardest hitting) but the American people aren't seeing them because "NBC isn't televising them." But he thinks and the other NBC morons think that "none of it is shown on "national TV." They don't realize that PBS and C-Span are showing the convention. Sad.
And send a letter. letters@msnbc.com
thanks DSS!
you said it beautifully. i've been flipping the cable news networks every evening in horror at how bad their coverage is.
of course most Americans get their news from these evil broadcast corporations, or their dead-tree cousins.
so it seems like Divine intervention that a deadly hurricane is heading towards the gulf coast to greet the Republican-Corporate convention...
thanks Bob. Question for you
I called the DNC 6 hours ago and suggested that they blast an email to their members to watch C-Span for full convention coverage. It is the way to see all the speeches. For sure, the major networks will only show one or two.
The girl who answered the phone at the DNC office didn't give me confidence that my message would be passed on. I also emailed them, but with the onslaught of messages they must get, I'm sure my note was not read.
I truly think it would be a good public service to blast your members and tell them to watch C-Span to ensure they see all of this evening's fun. I wish the Obama camp would do the same. I'm stunned at how little the MSM is showing of this historic event. The networks spent hours and months discussing the upcoming convention, and speculating about what everyone was going to say, and how the roll call would be carried out, and then they waste their airtime and don't even show Americans the news in the making and history in progress. It's so horrendous.
Simple subject: Watch C-Span to see full convention coverage.
I have already gotten 2 email notes from the DNC today. It's all about what is happening. I'm concerned for those who might well never see the important stuff because the talking heads on the networks prefer the sounds of their own voices.
DSS, I posted that also.

We need to get the word out that CSPAN is the spin free,
no commentary station airing the entire Convention.
I am with you!!!!
The "news" coverage of the DNC is bull****!!!!After hearing one great speech after another, then have to listen to the TALKING SNAKES!
CSPAN 1- All Convention,
No Bull.
Try it!
Coverage
Where I live the only real time broadcast of us was on PBS. OPB had the convention on during prime time in Oregon. The commentary was very insightful and relatively neutral, just as REPORTING (emphisis added) is supposed to be. I didn't even see any coverage, aside from Senator Obama's acceptance speech, on any of the "major" networks the rest of the week.
My friends I have an idea to change this one-sidedness and to also bring civility, honesty and fairness back into the public debate. It's really quite simple: Reregulate the airwaves and bring back the "fairness in broadcasting" doctrine. FOX and other like "news" outlets wouldn't dare make some of their outrageous commentary, or accusations if they had to allow equal time for rebuttal. O'Riley would never again call Senator Obama, 'Osama', without having to pay for it with rebuttal time. Ann Coltier would be dancing naked for dollars, as she should be, instead of insulting half the nation without retribution.
Ronald Reagan knew what he was doing when he had this doctrine done away with. He laid the ground work for the right-wing takeover of the media. They love to scream "liberal, liberal", but in reality it's "reactionary, reactionary". It's time for the next congress, hopefully a clearly Democratic majority, to reenact the "fairness in broadcasting doctrine". It will the the nation some good.
unfortunately the Fairness Doctrine
never applied to cable TV, on the theory that there were an unlimited number of cable channels so different viewpoints could simply compete without regulation.
sadly no progressive billionaire has yet invested the millions needed to create a progressive cable TV network.
